Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
SaloAbraxas 0-2 Auserker
Game 1 was quite close I cast and lost my Nahiri, however by the time I got Sorin I was able to take over the board with a steady supply of creatures and removal.
Game 2 was more interesting, SaloAbraxas got off to an aggressive start while I was left with a hand full of combat tricks. Eventually SaloAbraxas' Nahiri came out and I was able to use my tricks to do 6 trample damage and take her out a turn later. After that I was able to draw steady pressure and then my own Nahiri helped close out the match.
Both games were close and SaloAbraxas' deck had me worried with an abundance of flyers and Thing in the Ice. Another great enjoyable round.

Admiral Memo [0-2] KeiranLC
Two very close games. There wasn't a whole lot of blocking going on in either game. I went for the small and quick approach, Memo had more high end. A couple of key instants got me there the turn before I would have died in each game.

ggs, friend!
In game 1 all the card draw in the world couldn't help Omega Lairon deal with the Profane Prince.
Game 2 I got delirious and was able to outrace an Elusive Tormentor.
Gah! I knew I've been forgetting something - the after action game reports from... (reads topic) like the last 3 games. And I only remember this week because it's the last round.
x_x'
Well in any case, it could've gone a bit smoother for me, but they were some good solid matches regardless of result. I saw... maybe 11 or 12 of my lands in game 1, which didn't bode well for my defensive line, but then I didn't hold out much hope for outmaneuvering a fully operational Death Star Westvale Abbey. Always fun to see it go off though.
Game 2 seemed a bit more promising, but ultimately my goofy "BG durdle-irium" deck didn't really come online, and I had to just sort of scramble to hold together any sort of defense against an impressive onslaught. Still, as I said earlier, it was a jolly good time regardless.
As for the league in general, I feel like... even after 8+ weeks, I managed to get an *okay* feel for the pool I opened, but some indecision and frequent deck re-building probably didn't do me many favours. Hopefully whatever I get from the EDM packs will clarify which colours/archetype to focus on, instead of alternating between 3 different builds every other week.

Yeah, Game 1, I was turning it around and then got blown out. Game 2, I was drawing creatures when I needed land, and then land when I needed removal.KeiranLC wrote:Admiral Memo [0-2] KeiranLC

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
To join us on our Moon adventures you will need to post 6 packs of SOI (those that were in the SOI league can either post a new pool or roll over existing pool) and 3 packs of EMN by noon MoonBase time on 8-14-16 (3 weeks from today). That gives us 2 week after the MTGO pre-releases to share our pools. My plan is to post round 1 pairings at that time.
Reminder: when posting packs please post a screenshot of the new content window (if possible). This is to help me track who opened what if there is ever a complaint of ppl spiking there decks with cards not in there pool (not likely with the LRR Fans but better safe than sorry).

well....if a twitch mod or 2 (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) could drum up some excitement in chat... But seriously you only sorted like that to show off the fancy double mythics.

I cracked my packs, took the picture, added them to my pool, adjusted my deck... and then my computer bluescreened when I was about to upload the picture.
I hope I can get my pool posted in time. Tonight has just been trash human night for me.

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
and that's time folks...I'm currently counting 11 submitted pools so the next person to submit will get in (you know to avoid those pesky byes), after that we go to the pairs of 2 rule in order to join. With that said I'll try to get round 1 pairings up in the next few hours...I just got a new comp so I need to transfer my pairing and tracking files over from the old 1...and no Memo, you don't need to post the combined pool (I didn't).

notes/house keeping:
- Hi, I'm Randus and I'll be your tour guide, be sure to check here weekly to get your pairings.
- Welcome to the Spooky Moon season of the LRR Fan Sealed League and good luck to all over the next 8ish weeks.
- Please remember this is a Fun league so given the only thing on the line is bragging rights. Please try to be courteous to you opponents at all times.
- Incase it wasn't clear: To those new to the League each round is 1 week long.
- Given there is currently a potential for a bye this season this is how I plan on handling it:
1 - Each player will only get 1 bye at most.
2 - If you know you won't be able to play a given week tell me before postings go up and I'll give you the bye (assuming you haven't already had it).
3 - The bye will be assigned at random among those that have yet to receive it.
4 - If more than 1 player invokes rule 2: I'll ether postpone the week (3+ players) or default to rule 3 among those that will not be able to play and have not already gotten the bye.
- please remember to post your scores in green, this is so that I can easily find them to update pairings.

Omega Lairon 1-2 Randus2003
game 1 was a great back and forth with my puppies taking it in the end.
game 2 involved some amazing solitary on Omega Lairon's part showing off most of his best cards. Me on the other hand, I saw 13 mana sources by turn 8 after mulling to 6.
game 3 was a battle for the ages as there flyers over took my puppies...calumniating with me attacking for what I thought was 6 (them at 8 ) completely forgetting the puppies anger gave not just double strike but also +1/+1 (to which I got a well deserved "read the cards") knowing I was dead next turn to all them wings.

Re: Loading Ready Sealed League
Truly, some excellent matches. Thanks again friendo, it was good fun.
From my side of things, Game 1 was a very good showing for starting at a mull to 5 with 2 lands and some thoroughly "meh" creatures. I couldn't really build back up from that, but I sure as hell put up a good attempt.
Game 2 was all one-way traffic, as previously advertised, so there's not much more I can add.
Game 3 had both sides putting up some good threats throughout. It really did just come down to running the numbers on each attack and deciding how best to block/not block to keep ourselves in our respective games. Saving it for me was getting Sigardian Priest out a round before a rather meaty threat showed up, keeping it effectively neutered long enough for removal to finish the job. Using Elusive Tormentor as a chump block was... probably not my best tactical decision, but I figured I was basically in topdeck mode, so I couldn't really afford the discard cost to get his attacks in. *shrug*. Ultimately it was a spectacular finish, well worth the price of admission.
