abanytar (venerable_bede) [2-1] Auserker

ggs, friend!

Game 1 Auserker let Nahiri get super mad and wipe my board. Then the lithomancer showed up herself to make life miserable, but I managed to punch through Auserker's board to kill her. Then I had a big shiny dragon to deal with, but through a steady stream of creatures I was able to poke enough damage through for the win.

Game 2 after aggressive swinging and trading on both sides, we were both down to top deck mode and Auserker drew removal first. It was Certain Death for me.

Game 3 was all one-way traffic sadly as Auserker had to mull to 4.

AdmiralMemo 1-2 SaloAbraxas

So game 1 Memo 4-for-1ed me. The game ended shortly thereafter and not in my favor.

Game 2 a Nahiri and Awoken Horror managed to carry the day, though it was pretty close at the end.

Game 3 started out pretty evenly with us both drawing a lot of removal and clearing the board, but as the game went on, I drew well and Memo flooded.

Yeah, your deck is good, but it's vulnerable with lots of 1-toughness creatures.

Umm Randus, I don't know if you missed it or if it doesn't matter somehow, but I'm 0-1-0, not 1-0-0

zarbit 2-0 hacofo

This match took longer to arrange than either of us expected, mostly due to me, but hacofo was generous enough to stay up late and jam it today. I basically played little werewolves then big werewolves, and the big guys blocked his humans then tore him to pieces.

EDIT: Sorry Randus. :(

Artirian_Legacy 2-0 AdmiralMemo

So those games were won on the backs of mana screw and bad draws on Memo's behalf.

-Fortunately-, we got in an exhibition match afterwards which featured such things as: interactive gameplay, decent hands, good draws, and (I think) close finishes. All I can say is that Goldnight Catsigator is not a good friend against Burn From Within

Randus2003 1/2 Hacofo

game 1 - I saw no mountains and they got stuck at 4...finally stabilized on 4 when I started hitting the right lands....then a 5th land and a x-spell to the face ended me.

game 2 - My puppies never stopped ripping in to them, with no end to the pack in sight I took the game.

game 3 - I never got up and running, getting stuck on 4 and they just had a solid draw, curved out and so much inspiration.

Auserker [0-2] Omega Lairon

Game 1 was sadly a bit one-sided thanks to an unfortunate case of mana flood on my opponent's side. The upside is they were able to whip out Sorin nice and early... only to hit a mountain with his + ability, and then proceed to get eaten by dogs the very next turn.

Game 2 was thankfully more competitive, with both sides managing to find a decent balance of lands and not-lands to play. I was able to capitalise on some early momentum, and my opponent had decisive answers to a lot of my questions. I managed to get Lili into the mix a few turns in, and while she never really dominated, she proved a constant threat. I did eventually get her ultimate online... the turn I was coming in for lethal "evasive" damage thanks to a combination of Subjugator Angel and Elusive Tormentor.

I'll look in to this when I get home from work in 8ish hours...but it appears that I double booked abanytar so if the 2 of you can work something out before then, great otherwise it's going to be a wait and see what I can do.

Edit:

pairings are now fixed

Antitonic (JakeWaffleman) [2-1] abanytar (venerable_bede)

Turns out, Sorin's quite old as far as age goes, and you don't get to fit into the same armour for so long without putting in continuous days of hard work. Great games!

ggs, friend! ggs indeed.

Game 1 ended because, as it turns out, the Twins of Maurer Estate are totally fine with the Boon of Emrakul.

Game 2 I tried to fend off Sin Prodder, but my aggression got totally stopped by Dusk Feaster.

Game 3 I got so close, but then Sorin came out to play and I just couldn't get enough damage through.

Woof, that flood in the 3rd game super-killed me.
7 card hand: 6 lands
6 card hand: 4 lands
5 card hand: 3 lands and late CMC sorcerys
Scry: Land, pitch it
Draw: Land, land, land, and land. Dead.

Randus2003 [2-0] abanytar (venerable_bede)

ggs, friend.

Game 1 I kept a bad 6 card hand that could not even come close to matching randus' start.

Game 2 I made a serious tactical error, sending Olivia's Dragoon flying right into the jaws of a very long-necked Uvenwald Hydra.

my side of this match came with sound effects:

game 1 - HOWL............crunch, crunch, crunch.
game 2 - !HAIL HYDRA!

unfortunately the ZZW draft I was doing on the side didn't go so well as I flooded hard in both game 1 and 2, not the best plan for such a fast format.

AdmiralMemo (2-0) Auserker

Both games started out well, with aggression from both decks. In the end my deck decided to follow a trend of showing me how many lands I can draw in a row in the mid range stage of the games. Good Games, I think it is Karma for playing the same SOI pool as last round :P. We did have some more fun exhibition games afterwards.

SaloAbraxas 2 - 0 Hacofo

After a week of scheduling problems on my side, we managed to get a fitting time to quickly battle out our games.

Let's summarize it this way, fliers are very efficient against ground-bound creatures and removal at the right time can really ruin your day. :D

Auserker 1 - 2 Hacofo

3 Interesting games.

[Game 1 & 3]
Turns out Outcasts are quite good if you can flip them.

[Game 2]
A bad attack can turn the whole game around pretty fast.

[Game 3]
A very close win even though my opponent mulled to 3.
Having two Plainswalkers killing and exiling your creatures is a bad feeling.

abanytar (venerable_bede) [2-0] AdmiralMemo

Thanks for the games, friend! ggs!

Game 1 was not looking good for me until I realized that I had put Memo to 13 and I had Triskadekapobia in my hand. I managed to hold on through Memo's turn to get the win.

Game 2 was, in Memo's words, a non-game. Memo got off to a slow start while my Cryptbreaker churned out zombies. Then things were beginning to turn the corner for Memo, but those Insatiable Gorgers refused to stay out of the red zone, removing a crucial blocker from the equation.

Randus2003 0-2 DeathNDecay

game 1 - I went from discarding to hand size (do to being stuck on 2 land) to only drawing land.

game 2 - went a lot better up to the point of me assembling both my packs of Alphas with them starting to fell the pain of being stuck on 3 land...and yet I had no way to combat the 7/6 vigilant 1st striking vampire....did I mention the wings? because it had those too.

so ya I never stood a chance this week....I dare say game 1 was a mercy killing given how game 2 went.
