Good games indeed.

I got extremely lucky in game 3 with top-decking the one card that helped.
It wasn't deserved after the mistake I made in game 2.
Instead of keeping mana up for the removal (Silverstrike) I had in hand, I pumped without provocation and got my rightful judgement for it.

Thanks again for the games.

SaloAbraxas [2-1] Zarbit

Game 1 I managed the incredible feat of losing a game after both resolving a planeswalker and flipping a Thing in the Ice.

Game 2 I had a fast start and won just before it looked like I was going to be in a lot of trouble.

Game 3 was just my deck working at full capacity to sift for answers while being lucky that Zarbit didn't draw his bombs that I didn't have answers for.

abanytar 1-2 Randus2003

game 1 I got stuck on 4 land for way to long with a hand full of tricks/removal at 2 and 3 drops.

game 2 they flooded hard and self milled all their spells

game 3 they were off black and back to back arsonists set the world on fire.

Auserker 2 -0 DeathNDecay

Game 1 - DeathNDecay got stuck on 2 lands and was able to hold off for a while however never recovered and I was able to keep building my board.

Game 2 - I got off to a slow start getting stuck without a plains and have 4 white cards in hand. DeathNDecay had me at 4 life when I was about to concede if I didn't draw a plains, However I was able to draw one and Nahiri Stabilized the board and then Sorin joined her and I was able to take control for the win.

Both games were fun, I was hoping to see one of us die to triskaidekaphobia which would have been a flavor win.

Antitonic [0-2] SaloAbraxas

Game 1 was an interesting one. I started off a little slow, but stabilized and generated a lot of card advantage to get the win. Bonus: Story-appropriate planeswalker duel!

Game 2 was...well, it was. Antitonic had to mull to 3 and never got to cast a spell.

Here's to better draws next week.

Atifexe [2-0] KeiranLC

It was a case of an experimental build not quite panning out this week. In both games Keiran seemed to be getting the wrong cards at the wrong time, and my deck consistently provided answers. I feel a bit sorry for Watcher in the Web finding itself suffering from Sleep Paralysis two games in a row, and I may owe my Accursed Witch an apology for throttling it to free it from being Bound by Moonsilver.

Omega Lairon [2-1] Hacofo

Game 2 started off fairly low key - we both had a slow build up of troopers trading blows and holding the line. As the turns rolled on though, the werewolf pack came out to play, and gradually poured on enough damage to get the job done.

Lastly, in game 3, the team finally found that raw aggressive bloodlust that this latest iteration of my deck was built for. A particularly crucial play saw my Branded Howler wipe out 2 defenders with a combined 9 power from my esteemed opponent's ranks, suffering no worse than a few non-fatal bruises, thanks to a flavourful Uncaged Fury. With the defensive ranks shattered, the result was pretty much set.

Oh... game 1? There was no game 1... but there was one player getting to play spells while the other got viciously mana screwed. Let's dwell on it no further.

That aside, the games were pretty excellent. GGs friendo, and may the last few league rounds be super fun.

Good slug-fests. Enough creatures, enough removal... Arlinn Kord showed up a little too late to matter in Game 3, but oh well. Very good games all around.

abanytar (venerable_bede) [2-1] Atifexe

ggs, friend!

Game 1 Atifexe got delirious and menaced me to death with a Hound while I flooded out hard.

Game 2 I was in top deck mode, getting beaten in the air, thinking, "My deck doesn't have any bombs, does it?" Then I drew Westvale Abbey. I was able to buy enough time to get Big Orm flipped to snag the win.

Game 3 was the perfect storm. Atifexe's Mindrack Demon whiffed, I got delirious, Booplegeist was my MVP, and the Profane Prince made an encore appearance to end the match.

Antitonic [0 - 2] Hacofo

Two quick and fun rounds.

The first one was decided early by the unlucky 13.

The second one was a much longer match with a lot of traded blows and 2 very lucky topdecks on my side.
My Inspiring speeches combined with some inner fire were enough to prevail against beeing reduced to ashes and win game 2 and the round.

Both games were pretty similar. I fall behind early. Nahiri helps me stabilize and get card advantage. I nearly get milled out, but that just increases the number of zombies I get with Rise from the Tides.

I can't tell if I've been particularly lucky or if my deck is more consistent than I thought it was initially.

Game 1: The game started out well, until Randus got stuck on 1 forest, and after Sorin came out I was able to keep the pressure up and fly in for the win.

Game 2: Randus brought his fast hitting deck out, however cruelly got stuck on land again while I had a great draw and got both Nahiri and Sorin down pretty much on curve. From there I was able to control the board and win.

Both games were closer then they seemed and it would have been a blockbuster round if Randus had of hit the lands he needed. Sorin once again only found land for me, I think he is mad about being put in a deck with Nahiri.

note to self: 4 land on turn 9 and 5+ drops in hand not so good against double Walkers.

and I fully agree despite the land issues on my part both games were stacking up to be blockbusters (and I don't mean the video rental store) :D

AdmiralMemo [2-1] Omega_Lairon

We did these games in between FanDraft rounds.

Game 1: Slow attrition fight that I won. Omega's answers always seemed a turn too late. I'd get something down, chisel a bit off his life, then get answered. Get something down, chisel, get answered.

Game 2: I got steamrolled due to mana screw. Not much more I can say about that.

Game 3: The Lightning Round! This was just over very quick... I got Castigator out and just started swinging like mad. Castigator is do or die. Favorite bit was swinging with Castigator (and a zombie token), Omega flashes out Pack Guardian, I let it hit the board and trigger, then Lighting Axe it, discarding Senseless Rage, using Madness to enchant my Castigator. Was basically game over at that point.

Just want to give everyone the heads-up, since scheduling has been a bit wonky for me, I'll just put it out for the public here. My schedule is basically "maybe Sunday night if lucky, free on Monday at any point, could also fit in Tuesday night, and then my schedule whams closed to the point of "maybe we could fit it in around the FanDraft?" This is how it's been and will be for the foreseeable future (until and unless my Patreon picks up and I can take fewer work hours). So if you're paired with me, earlier in the week is better for everything, and if you check your forum messages Wednesday or later, then we might not be playing that week.

DeathNDecay 2 - 0 Atifexe

Game 1: stuck on land but was able to stabilize into the old trisk

Game 2: Atifexe's skreeching skab did so much work, but once it went to bed I was able to beat down.

game 1 there was a vary close race up until Odric did some of his broken things for me.

game 2 was a little more one sided after I pulled the white for red and they tried to burn my 7/7 hydra to Ash (clearly not enough coffee for them). It all culminated with a single swing from a furious 8/8 double striking hydra and the clearly guilty convicted killer.

and because this is was the last round here are the decks I was running:

zarbit 2 - 0 antitonic

We didn't have too much in the way of games, unfortunately. Game 1 was decided by a very aggressive werewolf draw backed up by turn 4 Arlinn Kord, and game 2 saw Antitonic mull to 4, cast some spells but ultimately lose to more unrelenting werewolves.

That was a fun league! I am very much looking forward to EMN in however many weeks.

Game 1 saw a perfect run of a hand for zarbit topped off with Arlinn Kord dominating the field. I had some zombie tokens.

Game 2 was more interesting halfway through, after the MTGO decided 10 life was the correct starting total for me before I could draw anything worthwhile. Triskaidekaphobia started grinding away while Devil tokens held roughly 100 werewolves at bay, but it couldn't get there.

EDIT: Or you could read the above post. :P

ggs, friend!

In game 1 all the card draw in the world couldn't help Omega Lairon deal with the Profane Prince.

Game 2 I got delirious and was able to outrace an Elusive Tormentor.
