An LRR Themed Magic Set

Postby Ladsworld » 03 Apr 2015, 16:47

Hello humans!
I made an LRR Themed magic set (I was going to test it for draft.) and I was wondering what you guys thought of some of the cards! (Note, I am finding the art for and making more cards, and this post will be updated periodically.)

Themes

Weagle Tribal: Weagles are sort of like goblins in gameplay, except they are RG. http://i.imgur.com/mPdeDfD.jpg

Videos: Videos are artifact tokens that can be sacrificed to various enablers.

Storm: It's Storm

More Shall be revealed once it is completed.

I like where you're going with it, but I think Cam's Scorn will have issues - what does it mean to "force storm"? Does that mean that a judge will have to review all your remaining picks to verify that you're choosing the right cards? What you might do instead is to say that "for the remainder of the draft, reveal each card that you draft to all players, until you draft another card with Storm." That way, you're incentivized to go for storm, and it can be verified that you have done so.

For Graham's Familiar, it might be nice if he got some kind of use out of all the video tokens (natively - I realize you probably intend a lot of uses for them on other cards). What if, when G.F. dies, reveal the top X cards of your library, where X is equal to the number of videos you control, then target opponent chooses one of those cards, and you put that card into your hand. So it's like we all get to watch the videos, and then choose the one that the audience likes the best (which probably isn't the one Graham likes the best)...
What do model railroading and Magic: The Gathering have in common?
I don't have enough time or money for either!

Yeah, I agree. Your concept is sound, but the cards mechanically don't work well.

Heyo,
Its Jojo, From last years LRL streams. Im back... kinda.
Anywho, I know theres been an LRR set, but I've been taking a decent crack at it as a "Trying, failing and learning" kind of project.

Anywho, with my new laptop (that hopefully doesn't crap out...*knocks on wood*) I can at least do some nice LRRset cards

Heres what Im working on!https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DU6TKA1aPeNfEsgG72WNkUUr8odDdRiIkoARm0NHT0w/edit?usp=sharingJojo's LRRSET

Its a free edit right now, but don't be a dick butt and ruin it for everyone.
Something witty goes here...
Current MTG Decks:
Atraxa Superfriends
Opus Thief Breya
Revel In Riches Kess
Big Mana Kruphix

Cam's Scorn could instead be, instead of 'force storm':

"As an additional cost to cast Cam's Scorn, you may reveal a card with Storm from your hand.

"If you did not reveal a card with Storm, or if you control no cards with Storm, counter Cam's Scorn."

This makes drafting a Storm deck a priority while not creating an enforcement nightmare. You can either lead off with Cam's Scorn or finish with it as long as one other spell in your storm barrage has storm.
