The Sphinx taught me much

Postby ElFuzzy » 08 Aug 2015, 08:26

Mono blue mill hoping to abuse Sphinx's tutelage. Other engines being Fascination and Talent of the Telepath. Artifact subtheme to help with ephiphany and spy network.

I know omenspeakers and dakra's are rotating soon. Their expected replacements are faerie miscrients and jeskai sage.

Thoughts, questions, concerns?

EDIT: Alright I went out and bought what I could. Didn't get Aetherspouts so subbed in jest. Couldn't find Citadels but that's fine. This is the current physical bulid. I wanted to get it off the ground before I go to PAX.

I got blown out by a deck doing this in draft once. I note Mk3 has removed the Thopter Spy Networks, which were a major part of it in my experience.

I don't know if it's any good, but Altar of the Brood might be worth trying as another source of mill?

Yeah so I was talking with a friend who was concerned that my original plan might be too split between making tiny dudes and milling someone out. I tried to double down into mill.

You might want some insurance against aggro, since Perilous Vault is both slow and kind of a nonbo with your permanents. How about Aetherspouts? It even synergizes with the mill plan.

Aetherspouts was in the Mk1 but I thought it was too slow. However Vault is on the same clock so I think it'll work better. Mildly blows out those hexproof Oujutai's too.

Realised I could run nothing but artifact creatures on a decent curve so I re added the artifact subtheme and I guess more relevant win con. If I can con people into thinking they need artifact hate they wont expect the tutelage into talent. I hope. Only concern is that turns spy network into most of my draw, but fascination will probably always be draw so that's not a huge concern. Decent scry will keep me alive too.
