So I stopped playing for a while and I've been trying to get back into it and put together some sort of modern deck from cards I have. So far I have come up with this.

Any suggestions you can think of to improve it would be welcome. As would any suggestions as to what would be good side board cards to have as I really have no clue in that matter.

Re: Deck Assistance
Initial disclaimer that I don't play modern.
First thing that catches my eye, is it feels like a combo deck, so Krovikan Mist might be a bit out of place. Mirror Entity is how it is going to get the most illusions on the battlefield... but then Mirror Entity overwrites the power and toughness anyway at that point. (I plan to get back into deck building, but one of my biggest struggles was wanting to do too many things with a single deck. I needed to pare it down to the strongest element, and focus on that.)

Re: Deck Assistance
cuddlyblade are you playing on a budget? I like the idea of the deck and as it is, it can clearly win games of modern. Before I channel my inner reddit and tell you that 4 aether vials would be great in your deck, I'd like to know if you are willing to invest 120$ on a playset of a single card hahaha.
a cheap option I can see is Master of Waves to top off your curve since you look like you have a lot of blue devotion. The token can be used by the Grand Architect the turn they come in if you want to do a sick MoW into Steel Hellkite turn.

Re: Deck Assistance
Yes I am playing on a budget. I certainly don't have 120$ to spend on a single set of cards. I could afford to spend about 30$ on the deck. Perhaps slightly more if the cards were really good. The original Plan was to go Phantasmal bear then Lord of the unreal then architect, tap everything steel hellkite. I can see Master of Waves helping out with that.

That's what I see. I replaced the bears for Judge's familiar to protect you against on-curve Splintertwin even if you tap out on turn 4.
Pila-Pala is there because you already had Mirror entity and infinite mana with an X mana sink is awesome.
Mutavaults were the most expansive inclusions I made but they count as both Creatures (illusions) and lands. I only put 2 of them because they are about 10$ each. All in all, I calculate that my additions could fetch about 35$ investment.
The cards I cut you could just stick in the sideboard if you need more removal.
Have fun, Modern is the 2nd best format in my opinion

Re: Deck Assistance
A lot of the Blue devotion cards are getting cheap as they leave Standard and One way to capitalize on the Grand Architect would be to replace the Military Intelligences with Bident of Thassa. And I would expect the price of Nyktos to drop in the near future as well.
On the Standard Deck - I wouldn't be that happy with 2 legandary creatures that come in more than 2 copies.

Re: Deck Assistance
It gives you the flexibility to have tapped out on 3 or 4, and still be able to counterspell the twin. Basically, it gives you a turn respite against it. at that point, you'll be able to have either a removal spell or two and maybe even a mana leak for further insurance policy.

But Splintertwin is an enchantment right? And judges familiar counters instants and Sorceries?

Re: Deck Assistance
uh... you are right. that doesn't work, I didn't see that part.
Darn. Well then you could very well include the bears again. I like the evasion on the familiar but double the power is not to be scoffed at.
