Languages in 5ed D&D

Is there a mechanic in which to learn additional languages in 5ed rules beyond what you are racially given (or via backgrounds)? I haven't found one, and I'm working on a project in which linguistics are necessary.

Only current way to pick up more languages is the Linguist feat.
A.K.A. Likal in some places.

More languages can be learned by training as a downtime activity.

You can find the relevant info on training and other downtime activities on page 187 of the players handbook.

Taking the linguist feat is definitely a quicker means of learning a language is to take the linguist feat but you probably want to reserve your feats for something else unless it;s super important.

Most spellcasters also have access to some way of avoiding needing to know languages at some point during their career such as telepathy or something along the lines of comprehend languages.
