Loading Time - A Saturday in the Life of LRR

Postby Graham » 23 Apr 2009, 00:59

Tim's been wanting do this one for a while, and he picked a particularly full say too!

That said, pretty much all our Saturdays are nuts.
Especially on weeks that we're shooting commodoreHUSTLE.

it's always great to see behind the scenes. i'm sure it looks a lot more fun than it actually is, but damned if i don't want to do what you do.
p.s. you made me starving. bastards.

Incidentally, I always heard good things about QV's. Have to try their breakfast, now.

Curse the inability of my college computers to play blip. Curse!

THAT'S what you consider "productive"?!

Just kidding, I'd be hypocritical if I defamed a 10-hour day as unproductive when typically it takes me two days to make an 8-frame comic page.

One of these days I'm gonna have to sneak past the border and give you guys hell with two Ts, maybe in July when my birthday grants me a temporary financial boon...

Yay, morning update!

I think that looks like a considerable amount of fun. Not that I probably wouldn't be a little tired of doing that every week for five years, but it still looks like fun.

Also, I'd hoped for the inclusion of you guys saying dirty things with Helium voices, as mentioned in the podcast.

Wow, after following you all day, how much footage did Tim have to edit to get down to that running time?

I don't see how you guys can dare consider yourselves to be unproductive.

I mean, you're clearly working all day. Sure, you're not working to maximum efficiency, and you're certainly enjoying yourself in the process, but that's the best kind of work as far as I'm concerned.

It's pretty cool how you guys all start and end the day together over a meal. And that way you KNOW that everyone's had breakfast, which means nobody showing up having been running late and being totally useless because they don't have food in them. I know that for me, if I have a long day ahead, I need me my breakfast or I feel awful.

Forum update? Did I miss something? ... huh.

... Anyway, love the "behind the scenes" look at making the videos, it's great to see what goes into one of the videos.

For all the grumbling from the LRR Crew, it sounds like a great way to spend Saturdays if you ask me; hanging out with people you like, doing something you love!

Drat, can't find QueVies on Google maps.

I'd have to say that I always feel bad for the crew on a film shoot. I'm there as talent (for those not in the know, this term means those that act, whether or not they have "talent") almost all of the time. It goes from boring to fun and back to boring for me. But, for crew, it's hectic and stressful all day!

Like, the other day I had was on a shoot that had 61 shots in a single day (fortunately, only between two locations). I only had a few scenes, but I decided to hang out all day. The crew worked tirelessly from 7:30am 'til Midnight. People who work crew have my total respect. They work hard to make people like me appear to be good. Respect! *fist bump*

Well my battery was dying near the end of the day, so I was shooting a lot less. But the video easily could've been 15 minutes, especially if I included more shots of the actual shooting, etc.

Due to battery issues (I have to find my second battery back...) I didn't film the helium voices. They got caught on the LRR camera, though, so that stuff may come up on the DVDs or something.

I really enjoyed this! :D

I think a lot of fans, including myself, have been really curious about the behind the scenes (or the process) of LRR. I hope to see many more of these bonus videos in the future!
