In British Columbia (where the crew is) saying 'the interior' is analogous to 'upstate' as the main urban areas, Vancouver and Victoria, are on the coast. This usage is BC specific - it would be meaningless to someone from say land locked Saskatchewan.

A more general Canadian expression might be to say 'up north' as most people live near the southern edge of Canada.

We went with "upstate" because the cliché phrase is "upstate".

That was pretty damn awesome.

Question: The Cards in the title sequence - will we get to see what they say/what abilities everyone has at a future date?

Yes, along with a complete card list.
Ah!

No, actually.
That isn't the M12 Fatpack book. That is a Magic rulebook, with the M12 graphics.

You should give Paul the comprehensive rules. I'm sure he'd enjoy that :D

I should have also said I loved this video. Like It's Magic and unlike Roll for Treats this felt like a natural LoadingReadyRun video. Speaking as someone who does not play magic but has seen it being played has dabbled in other collectable card games there was little in the video that went over my head where the card names. Admittedly I did not get Jer having flash until second viewing.

I loved the play by play especially the Haka bit and Matt's line "I do not know what it was but it certainly was stirring."

Paul at the start of the video made me think of this video, How cricket looks to most people, that Andy posted on Facebook.

I do have a few questions:

As a wiki editor I have to ask about categorisation. Are Friday Nights a subset of commodoreHUSTLE or something completely different? Will Friday Nights continue to be branded as cH on the LRR website? Of course I consider Friday Nights to be a separate series from the regular weekly updates.

How does Friday Nights fit into the commodoreHUSTLE Continuity? Will events in Friday Nights be referenced in future regular commodoreHUSTLEs? For instance does Paul now play Magic in the commodoreHUSTLE universe?

Does Paul actually play Magic now?

Can we have more magic play by play? It made me think a bit of cricket commentary since although I understand the basics there is a lot jargon I do not understand.

Love it, loved Alex's line at the start in Paul's mind and I'm just recently trying to get into magic as well, buying the magic phases tshirt might've had something to do with that. *cough*

Matt would open boosters with a pair of scissors. But yes, I've seen a couple of people at the game store with some very specific superstitions and rituals when it comes to booster selection and opening...

The commentary was definitely my favourite part of the video, though.

Next step: encoding this for my phone, so I can show it to the guys at game day tomorrow...

If anyone wants to know, here are the captions under Graham and Matt's names when they are commenting the match:

Graham Stark - Is here because promised pie (I'm not sure about this)
Matthew Wiggins - Really has no idea what's he's talking about (I'm pretty sure about this)

This is pretty much how my friends introduced me to magic and how a couple of our other friends eventually gave in an learned.

"Look, just teach me already!"

And thus disappeared four or so years of disposable income.

I have no idea how some Magic games work. But I really wanna see a Commander game where your cards are the commander.

Also I love that I get to select British English in account creation ^^

Since you can use Kathleen's hair to date when videos are shot, this video was shot before Doom Booties was memed. True they could've edited the credits, but that has the foul stench of extra effort, so I can't hold the void of Doom Booties against them.

So after rewatching it, I still like it.

My initial thought was that the picking the booster pack scene dragged on. But on second viewing, I think it works at the current length.

The commentary on the the shuffling was a little dry though. I think there was more potential for comedy there. Then again, that was probably the point.

Also: Are the intro cards real? Can we get them posted to the thread to admire all the awesome?

You will not dull my complaining with such trivial matters as "Facts" and "Logic".

...also, "The Void of Doom Booties" is my German Electro-Punk band.

If I recall the video was shot pre-DesertBus, with reshoots done early this year.

This video makes me wish the MTG shop near me wasn't the most unwelcoming, anti-social shop on the planet and make me feel like I'm committing a crime just by walking in.

Hilarious. Ended a little weak but I loved the gargantuan joke anyway.

I had a hard time not laughing at Paul's interpretation of Alex's speech. And the various booster selection methods, utter gold. I laughed at the flash joke even though I didn't want to.

One thing I must know: Please tell me there will be official MTG cards of the crew? If not I assume you fabricated the cards with an online utility. If so will you release the files?

And made me want to play (and buy) MTG again
Keep up the good work.

As mentioned multiple times already, would one of the crew mind showing high quality pics of the crew cards? I like the quick glimpses, but I'm sure there are better.
My Youtube Channel. Currently, I have a daily series where I play games that I like. Right now, it's Double Dragon Advance. I also have a weekly series where I play as the Archenemy from Duels 2012

But when there are any number of apps you can get to keep track of life (including the one used in the original It's Magic video) it seems a bit redundant. Or, y'know, use a pen and paper :D

In my play group, only 2 out of about a dozen folks have a phone that can run apps. Couple that with the crazy life antics our games normally see, a handful of spindowns is easier than anything else.

So, Matt... as the Angel Enthusiast, how does one go about stuffing a deck full of 'em? I have a friend who desperately wants an all-Angel deck, we're making her hold back since we can't figure out how to make a bunch of 5+ mana creatures work.

Also, how many Bump in the Nights will it take to get a LRR magic card?! *do want*

I am Paul at the beginning of this video. SO many of my friends play magic at the Student Union, and I can't join in because I'm mostly broke. I am in college, so my money either goes to food, supplies, or video games.

But I would buy LRR magic cards in a heartbeat.

Also, fact: I opened every single YGO booster I ever bought with scissors.
