I feel its more this specific time walk is cursed. Jer got it for an insanely good deal to begin with, after all.

Of course the ideal solution would be to cast Data enchanted with Cause and Effect Climax. Costs two and a half gold, and sends the number 3 into the next time loop.

I was already smiling and laughing at Jer's screamday, but Alex joining in after revealing Tombstalker made me lose it. Absolutely loved this episode.

See, now everyone's going to think you stole Edge of Tomorrow's gimmick, even though I assume you filmed this long before the movie came out because you have to get Wizards to vet everything before you can show it on their channel.

This one was hilarious, I loved him threatening his friendship with Graham if he didn't play mono-black, although how he beat Kathleen to the Moonbase completely didn't make any sense to me, although I supposed casting Time Walk and waking up in your bed on the same day doesn't make much sense either.

Magical realism by way of Magic the Gathering! I can dig it.

On the plus side some people remembered the more classic film Groundhog Day.

I showed this to a friend and he told me that Time Walk was a card that it was an "untested card", that is that they made the card to fit art that they had, and didn't playtest it much, which is why it is so broken. Also why the card was not printed very long.

Am I alone in thinking that Groundhog Day would have been improved if it, too, had a scene where Bill Murray spends the entire day screaming?

It was certainly tested. There's a story about the original text on the card being "opponent loses next turn."

The issue with the power level in Alpha was that WotC didn't expect people to buy more than $40 or so in cards, and so there'd be maybe one of each rare, if that, in a playgroup.

I can't stop looping the couple of seconds of Jeremy running around and screaming. I just can't stop laughing at it.

Loved the episode! :D Missed Graham's missing card at the beginning.

Question: Why is Dark Confidant named "Bob"?
Graham wrote:The point is: Nyeh nyeh nyeh. I'm an old man.
LRRcast wrote:Paul: That does not answer that question at all.
James: Who cares about that question? That's a good answer.

It's named after Bob Maher. He's the guy in the (original) art, and he 'designed' the card as part of his prize for winning a Magic Invitational.

Too bad they don't do the Invitational anymore.

I liked it a lot but, is it just me or should the card the resets the day be Time Twister.

"Character stuck in a time loop" is usually a cliche, but this is so well written and funny I didn't even care. Amazing.

Where's Graham's card though?

I don't usually actually laugh at LRR videos anymore. I still find them funny, don't get me wrong (strictly speaking, they're getting funnier on average over time). But I can usually predict enough of the jokes that I don't descend into hysterics. Instead I grin and appreciate the cleverness of it all.

But this one, this one was a genuine curveball for me. I haven't laughed that loudly and sincerely in a very very long time. Same goes for the stinger to Hero's Path - The Mastery.
I guess any fears I had about the weekly LRR sketches ending have been summarily crushed. Everything was just top-notch. Acting, writing, pacing, length.

Scores are dumb, but if they weren't this video would have a perfect one.

I'm quite certain that was just Kathleen grunting as she tossed her legs up on the table for chillaxing time.

I think this is just about my favorite Friday Nights episode ever. Even some people I know who don't really play magic anymore, but understand the idea, thought it was hilarious. Man, I can't wait to see you try to top this, I'm expecting live action grizzly bears or something.
