All righty then, I can do that. Twitch.tv for live, Youtube for catchup. TY for the advisement.

It's on a separate channel, here.

?? I didn't edit any dumb derpage out of my post because I apparently can't read. What are you talking about?
Edit: love the playlists, "Play All" and play next. Exactly what is wanted and needed. See? no derpage this time. I mean, ever.

Here's an idea: Imagine 2 streamers had to switch games for a week. What would you think would be interesting? Beej plays X-COM? Kathleen plays Prince of Persia? Alex plays RE6? Cam plays Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne?

I kinda like that idea. might not work for games that are heavily story based and have long tutorials, but I could see the result being hilarious.

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
I think Alex playing XCom would be enough entertainment to last me several weeks.

Oh, I doubt they'd actually do it, Red, but it'd be an interesting thought experiment.

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
I've noticed that the stream video occasionally pulses (no better way to explain it). Is this a Twitch issue or something up with your capture card?

If you're watching replays, Twitch buffers in 30 minute increments with a small gap in between.

Yeah, I've seen that, both live and in the archive... IIRC Graham said onstream there's not a lot they can do about it, it's a side-effect of the keyframe interval and bitrate settings that Twitch recommends for streamers, or something.
Something like, the bitrate isn't high enough for the keyframes to come across at high enough quality, so every time there's a keyframe, the quality drops momentarily, and then incrementally picks up again over the next few frames, so you get this pulsing moment of low quality every couple of seconds. It's pretty distracting, but still technically watchable...

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
Graham or James: Since Kathleen is streaming "all day" tomorrow, which apparently moves Alex and Jer to Wednesday, can you edit http://bit.ly/LRLCalendarHTML to reflect that change? I saw it was done for when James had to reschedule his stream to Saturday.

First LRRld Problems: Seeing a streamer doing something wrong over and over, and not being able to say anything in chat because you're watching a replay.

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
Does live streams stop recorded streams from working?
I was watching Kathleen's marathon of FFXIII-III and I skipped ahead because of a break at 4:00:00 (Lunchthleen) and the recording froze.
I reloaded the page and it froze again when I skipped to where I was.
I reopened my webbrowser and it froze.
I did notice that LRR was Streaming at the time (stress on the server?).
I wonder if I may have discovered a bug because I have been the first person who's tried to watch a recorded stream whilst a live stream was being broadcasted.

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
Nope, that's just Twitch's archive system being a pain to use.

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
The archives are split into 30 minute pieces, and each piece is distributed amongst their CDN... if the server that one piece is on happens to be overloaded, or down, or something, then you can have it that an archived video seems to stutter or crash at a particular place consistently.
Try it again later, hopefully it'll be fine.

There are various ways to try and improve performance (different browser, pop out video, update flash, clear browser cache, DNS cache flush) but's pretty random as to what works for who

Ah alright thanks.
I can look forwards to seeing Kathleen running around for another hour trying to find one number as I level my Pokemon.

Yeah, that was excellent. Had to leave for a little bit, but thankfully I only missed about twenty minutes due to the technical difficulties.
Also, per Alex's request at the end, I used my considerable talents and whipped this up.

Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
I'm mentally, emotionally, and spoopily exhausted at this point. I'm honestly just glad they finished it. I would have been kind of cheesed off if it was like "Well, we've got 5 hours to go, so we're done forever now. Bye.
Re: General LRL Stream Feedback
The Let's NOPE was amazing.
Hope to see more of this (and not just horror - I enjoyed the "four people stream a short game they haven't played" format more than I did seeing Kathleen get progressively paler as the game went on.)
