So, it looks like Alex will not be appearing on this Friday's Let's Nope because people would not stop harassing him about playing Five Night's At Freddy's 2. (See: ask.fm and Alex's twitter)

I know that the regulars of this community are better than that, so I hope it's just a vocal minority or people from outside, but I'm still disappointed that it's got to this stage. Some people apparently can't take no for an answer. I don't blame Alex at all for wanting nothing to do with that game now.

Anyone who did find it appropriate to pester him should read this article about entitlement by Neil Gaiman: http://journal.neilgaiman.com/2009/05/entitlement-issues.html

Are you kidding me? People are STILL pressuring him regarding that?

Sometimes, people are the worst.

Whoever's moderating in the chat come next IDDQDerp stream: be prepared for some shit. Hopefully it won't happen, but still, be prepared.

Also the Let's Nope itself.

EDIT: Seems like Freddy's is not being played at all on the Let's Nope on Friday, which is probably a wise decision. That's a relief.

It's shitty that people are bothering him too much. I'm glad to see he doesn't seem to be blaming the game for it's rabid fanbase. Because, frankly, it is super stressful to play. And even then, not wanting to is a perfectly good reason by itself.

As much as a FNAF2 stream might have been fun, I'm glad they canceled it. At the point where people were bothering Alex to the point he got as upset as he is/was, it would have been awkward for even the people who ended up playing it and a bunch of people would complain he wasn't there. So it feels like the best choice. In the meantime, I'll look forward to whatever they do end up playing tomorrow.

What does the crew do on Friday that it's basically the only day of the week where there's nothing in the afternoon and evening?

Film Crapshots? Work on Mystery Box? Film Friday Nights? Work on other projects?

For lack of a Let's Nope comment thread, I really do feel the need to point something out that annoyed the daylights out of me in last night's stream...

You know that thing when you look at the list of replays on youtube and say "hey, I didn't watch this, I don't even remember when this happened" so you click on it and then it's Adam and James and you still don't remember anything they're talking about and then your name appears on the on-screen chat? Did that ever happen to any of you?

No, can't say I ever remember that happening.

While it's great to see more episodes uploading, can I please put in a request for Beej's Backlog: Shadowrun Daggerfall ep 1? We've got the end of Paper Mario, and from 2 onwards of Shadowrun Daggerfall, so....

Just curious. There seems to be a massive chunk missing from episode 1 of Adam's Dark Souls 2. Episode 2 starts and I have NO idea what's going on. Just wanting to know if you guys have that missing chunk still. If so, I'll wait patiently for it to be uploaded, but if it's lost I don't want to end up waiting forever. Is there any way to check?

Wanted to ask about twitch VOD's and thought this the place to ask. has anyone else noticed a odd skipping/jumping with Twitch VOD's recently? video's will just lurch forward a second or two every now and again and it's rather odd, also the video buffer doesn't seem to work like it used to, i was curious if twitch is going for a YouTube approach and has gotten rid of the pause to let the video buffer all the way.

I know this could be my ISP, as i'm in the UK and virgin media is known for throttling YouTube every now and again, i wouldn't be surprised if they've fixed their gaze on Twitch now.

Anyway i was just curious to see if i was the only one, maybe find a solution to a minor but very irritating issue. Thanks for your time.

Twitch have recently changed their replays so they buffer in 3 second slices, rather than 30 minute segments. It plays havoc with my connection too, so you're not alone.

Glad to hear that i'm not alone, i guess no fixes have popped up yet, akin to YouTube center fixing the buffering issue with YouTube?

It does have the advantage of allowing you to select the quality, where this was not the case for the other VOD playback method.

If you'd prefer the old version, I believe the lrrbot archives play it the old way: http://lrrbot.mrphlip.com/archive

Not any more. Twitch finally got around to updating their embedded player too, so the lrrbot archive pages are doing the same 2-second-chunks thing.

Honestly, personally I think it's an improvement - you can turn the quality down, now, which is usually enough (for me at least) to get a steady stream out of it, rather than the pause-and-wait I had to do on the previous system (that only had Source quality). And skipping forward to a point on the timeline works a lot faster now. I'm willing to give up the ability to pause and preload a stretch of video for that.

After some experimenting, running twitch through VLC seems to have fixed all my issues.

I tried to make a new topic for this, but when I logged in, that ability went away. :(

So, here are some older games I think would be perfect for playing on Stream…. (noted where they can be found/purchased if I could find them.)

Dragon's Lair Steam
Space Ace Steam
Kingdom: The Far Reaches (was in arcades as Thayer's Quest) GOG.com
Kingdom II: Shadoan (I had a copy for my Macintosh- finished up Kingdom/Thayer's Quest) Moby Games has it for CD-I
Master of Magic GOG.com (This one has CAM written all over it!) GOG.com
MOO3 (again, Cam) GOG.com
Might and Magic GOG.com
Command and Conquer (EA has it)
The Dig Steam
Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers GOG.com and has recently been re-released without the old, good voice acting. I has a sad. :P)
Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within GOG.com
Gabriel Knight: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned GOG.com
King's Quest (This might be good for a W+P… go in circles for hours!) GOG.com
Police Quest GOG.com
Earthworm Jim Steam
Wing Commander III: Heart of the Tiger (Bonus Mark Hamill- always good!) GOG.com and *blech* Origin
Sid Meier's Civilization: Call to Power GamesWin and XTCabandonware
Night Trap (another good W+P as it is just so WTF "out there") The ISOzone
DUNE II bestoldgames,net
Leisure Suit Larry GOG.com
Battlezone (Yes, the vector-drawn arcade game) myabandonware.com
Tempest XTCabadonware
Gauntlet- The original Arcade one. I think the later ones suck bawls) Abandonia.com
Xenophobe (3 player action, good for "Crossing the Streams") old-games.com
Tutenkham (vizzed.com has a playable online version. Couldn't find anything else- sorry!)
Joust Abandonia.com and gamefabrique
Nights into Dreams Steam
Toejam and Earl gamefabrique
Painkiller Original en.softonic.com
Master of Orion- original GOG.com
7th Guest Steam
11th Hour Steam (bundled with 7th Guest)
Terratech (A building game where you can incorporate the vehicles you defeat into your own- perfect for Alex. Steam early access

Oh god NOT MoO3! I tolerated the game simply because of the setting and continuing 'storyline'/lore of the series, but GAWD, that game was BOOOOORING to just play; if someone were to stream it...would twitch break if the view counter went into the negatives? :P

But the rest are varying degrees of good idea, given the broad base of streamers LRR has; thanks! :)
