I don't know what to pick. I'm spoiled for choice. And I'm lazy for effort.

Anyone got a ready-made Beej av I can just drop in?

I can't believe Alex and I made more of an effort to get dressed up than the game did.

Not sure it'll resize properly, but this seems like a good fit:

If that doesn't work, this one is more or less square:

(Both from CWH's GIF archive)

Edit: oh, or this. This is good.

I KNOW, RIGHT?!?

Also, those CWH gifs are hella awesome.

As for the flight sim, you were doing fine (from what I saw), it was just this irresistible compulsion of mine to offer advice and direction, even when incapable of doing so in a timely manner :P

But yeah, if you're going back to Rebel Strike, maybe a little 'prep session' before the stream starts to fiddle with the options and test them to see what's comfy for you. :)

BTW, just took another peek (ashamedly to recheck the game's title) and...WTF is that the DeSoto?!? Image

I shoulda known - LucasArts have always been kings of the vidjama games easter eggs! Image

Beej, have you tried the Virtual Villager games by Last Day at Work? They involve seven villagers washed up on an unknown island, and they must survive from there, making fire, finding a source of clean water and etc. You might enjoy them. I know I did.

There are six games in that franchise, with my favorites being 2, 3 and 4. The only drawback being that once you've solved the puzzles in the game, they never change. But your people can starve to death or die of disease, so…

Another one I liked in Gemini Lost- six people get transferred to another world and must survive by building stuff and reactivating a teleporter to hopefully return home. It's another one that's repetitive after the first play through, but you might enjoy it.

I've not heard of either of these. I'll look them up. Thanks!

Oh. that *is* good. I'll have to size it down to 100x100 under 6 KiB, first. Thank you!

Beej, you can get away with more intensive avatars by linking to them via URL rather than uploading them.

Yeah, what Prospero said. Here's a 100x100 version that you can link to, trying to get it down below 6kb is probably not gonna work too well unfortunately.

Image

If you go to User Control Panel > Profile > Edit Avatar, you can use the "link off-site" option to set this as your avatar without it having to be 6kb or less. Hope this helps!

Sorry for the rather belated reply Beej, but it's all good if the SA account comes up again. I just caught up with (I think) part 3 of Harvest Moon. I'm going to get up to date, I swear.

Beej's Sailor Moon bootlegging enterprise! With option Comic Sans! Through the mists of time Beej was "Totally a big deal" and this is an example of grest web design by 1990s standards (so i am told)

By 90s standards, that is terrible web design. By modern standards looking back at the 90s, that's pretty damn decent web design. I've seen more recently constructed websites looking far worse.

Though I made the mistake of looking at the page source. Ugh. Though, again - the 90s (and Beej was, self-admittedly, not a web developer).

Well, my standards might be lower, but as long as it doesn't look like your average Geocities page, it's alright design in my book.

You're welcome! I'll see what other games I can come up with. The big drawback to those games is… a *lot* of waiting around for science points to add up. But I've gotten to the point where I can *win* a game of Gemini Lost in a couple of days of playing.

I've been biting my tongue on this one for a while, but
a lot of people might see a double meaning in that gif.

Double meaning?

...

So what's the meaning OTHER than Alex-bear giving Beej some 'stream head'? Image

In some circles "beej" means oral. So Alex is giving Beej a beej.
