Alex, have you played any of the sequels and prequels to Stalker? Or for that matter seen the movie?

From what I gather, he's played both Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat, but I dunno if he's finished them - his comments while playing (again) through Shadow of Chernobyl were that he's had direct experience with each: "I suggest people start with the third game, because it's the most polished and least buggy." and "Uh, we don't talk about Clear Sky" and a statement about how hard CS was that I forget the exact wording to.

Also, when asked about it during the stream, he'd been vaguely aware of the games' inspiration, Roadside Picnic and the pre-disaster movie. Mind you, by now he MIGHT have gone and found the book/movie and experienced either or even both. :)

I can't seem to find the SMOD recordings on youtube. Does anybody know where they are hidden?

They're incoming. There was an odd thing that happened and made those files HUGE, so I was making them less huge.

YEYEYEYEYEYEYEYEYE.
Bulletstorm is filled to the brim with STOPPIN' POWAH and is actually a really good game, with some undermining things to say about the whole "Big Men Wear Half A Car For Armor" ganre.
Also, the leash is LEGIT.

I would donate this game to LRR if it helped get it played on stream :D

Smod was hilarious. I kept getting light-headed from all the laughing. I thought I was going to pass out.

Though my abs are amazing now.

I don't know if you wanted to keep going with Papa and Yo, but as a heads up... it, uh, it gets dark.

I was getting that sense, but from reports its only about 4 hours so we'll gitterdun.

Also, Kathleen and I played OUTLAST. I doubt it will be as upsetting as that.

Dark in a different way, I would say, but yeah, fair point

I've just started watching Alex play Papa y Yo and I am LOVING the why he is genuinely, unironically enjoying the game. No cynicism, just really liking it. I was initially concerned it wouldn't have enough stuff to laugh at, but it seems the stream doesn't need that. It's really nice.

Powering through Dishonored to try and keep ahead of the stream. Also, I think the last day, Alex, you were tying to pinpoint the inspirations the designers used for the visuals of the setting? Well, as near as I can tell from my own play-through, the look seems to take most from 19th century London, but there's also a lot of that grimy, poverty-stricken, industrial dockyard feel of historical Edinburgh. The richer neighbourhoods get almost Parisian, and there's also a definite hint of early American industrialism going on.

The world also reminds me a lot of China Miéville's Bas Lag books, which I would highly recommend.

This game is really quite good.

I know I'm a little behind at this point, but I finally finished Call of Pripyat, a game I'm sure I never would have considered playing if not for IDDQDerp. Good times were had by all... although I kept it on the default difficulty and had a much easier time of it than Alex had with the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R (had about 200 medkits and 4000 rounds of various ammo by the end).

I didn't catch much of the Dishonored stream, but it looks super fun. I might have to squeeze it in to my schedule somehow.

Interestingly; Dishonored was originally set in real world London in 1666,Though I'm not sure at what point in development Arkane decided to change Dishonored to it's present whalepunk.
I can definitely see the overlap between puritans and the church of the everyman. I'd be curious to see what the plot looked like around that time.

Gonna ask this on twitter too, but how would you all feel about me installing a soundboard on my phone and using it plugged into the board during IDDQDerp?
