By the way, if anyone is interested in trying this Mount & Blade: Warband game we keep suggesting, it has a free weekend on Steam at the moment (and 75% off).

If you're doing more FTB this week, a few ideas:

Build a sawmill. It converts one log into 6 planks, instead of 4. Waste less time chopping trees. Also, you'll note that six planks burn for longer in a furnace then one charcoal (6*15s=90s, vs. 80s), so if you're going for a wood powered base, this is the way to go.

This brings up idea two: You need more power. You saw how long the Jetpack took to charge off of one dynamo, and if you want to start automating things like farming, you'll need to power those machines, too. A single steam dynamo isn't going to cut it for too much longer. Consider adding more dynamos or generators.

If you don't want to have to keep mining coal to keep the home fires burning, consider going with a sustainable fuel source like wood. Start a tree farm. They can be automated using Planters and Harvesters from Mine Factory reloaded. Planters get put in the middle of the farm, underground (one layer below the dirt) and harvesters are placed centered alongside the farm, on top of the dirt. Harvesters and Planters have a 3x3 range, by default. They can be boosted with range upgrades. Note that a range upgrade increases the radius of the farm, not the diameter, so a Level 1 upgrade will make the farm a 5x5; a Level 3 upgrade will make the farm the standard 9x9 size you typically use for crops, the maximum irrigation size with a single water block in the middle. As tree farms don't care about water, you could go bigger, if you choose.

To add to mercano:
look for generators from extra utilities they have different types of fuel input, including food or pink stuff :p

I had been working on my own set mod pack based of lite, with additional stuff including: tinkers, mystcraft, applied energistics, ironchests, Biomes o plenty etc. Just some stuff to make the mod more complete without overflowing it with annoying or difficult mods.

you can find it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ilbbinu1k64ln5q/mods.7z
just extract in the FTBlite mods folder

there should be no problem with using an old world, although some extra ores are added which may require new chunks to be loaded in in both the nether and overworld

I would say do a minecraft modpack that includes Laputo's Galacticraft, but that might be better for a "crossing the streams" (If you guys have already played this and I've just missed the stream, I apologise), like to team up and take on the Moon boss, possibly go on to take on the Mars boss

Come to think of it, there are also a lot of boss mobs in the Twilight mod (not affiliated with the movies/books)

This morning someone asked James for the world seed on the FTB Monster server. Here it is for posterity (click to embiggen):

The seed is 7927224839986957251. Base coordinates are X: -435, Y: 65, Z: -492. Look for the giant tree.

The latest YouTube dump of Feed The Beast is 'not available in my country' (UK) and I can't find a continuous recording in Twitch past broadcasts :(

I have the entirety of VGwVJ FTB Monster eps 2 (from Aug 21) & 3 (from Aug 22) saved as FLVs from Twitch's archive (before they took it down). I would be willing to share these files via direct download and/or torrent, assuming I get the OK from Graham.

Rewatching VGwVJ from two Thursdays ago... and in case no one's pointed it out yet: James dropped his hammer just before using the elevator at 4:11:07 (and it would've despawned 5 minutes later while he was upstairs sorting and crafting).

So, James... Clicker Heroes... I was grinding a boss for the 10K bosses cheevo... There's a secret boss... It's the same stats and everything as the regular boss, but somewhere around 1% of the time, the sprite is a turtle with a Image face. I hope you see that one time at least. :D

Hey i got a Question.
It seems the last stream was about KSP, but instead of a 3 hour video, twitch changes the video to a 22 second long one. What went wrong?

Found the reason:
There is a wrong Link
The right link to the Twitch Replay seems to be:

Having watched the full replay of the latest Video James, I have to say, for such a simple game, I do like the Geoguessr streams. The collaborative detective work between James and chat makes for interesting watching. I can only imagine the screaming going on when James missed, for instance, the fact that he passed several cars driving on the left in Australia.
