I'll second the suggestion of Psychonauts from Papperslappen a while back, especially if they've never played it before. Such a good game!

I would love to see them play Overlord. Overlord is awesome

I came here to suggest Binary Domain, which I liken to Pacific Rim both in how awesome and in how stupid it is, but it looks like people have already talked it up enough.
I'd also like to back up Psychonauts as a choice. That game is legitimately terrific.

How about Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z. The reviews for it are really bad!

Magicka is good, but full of bugs. Heck, Paul could hook up a controller and the two of you could give co-op a shot. The game is sitting in the [email protected] address if you are interested.
Bugs I've experienced so far, that haven't been patched to my knowledge:
Goblins bailing out in Chapter 3.
One of the bosses(not going to spoil anything) just leaving in the middle of a fight.

How about an old classic - Freelancer?
VtM:B would be nice as well, after the tragic that was Dark.

I know that Anthony Burch (the lead writer for Borderlands 2) has said on several different occasions that he puts Magicka alongside QWOP as one of the few true "comedy" games because of how its gameplay makes it so easy to gib your teammates in numerous silly ways and almost encourages it. A GPLP would be fine, but I'd think I'd want more people for that reason.

Freelancer would be interesting. It's got a fair amount of camp, looks fun to play, and the main plot doesn't take TOO terribly long to get through if you ignore the rest of the universe.
When the upkeep takes longer than the main phase, I know I've done my job well.

Re: GPLP next game thread
Right now I'd suggest Child of Light. It's gotten some really good reviews, and has some co-op features. It's also only about 8-10 hours, so it shouldn't take too many weeks to beat unlike most RPGs.

I'd love to see you guys do the original Witcher, with the original, um, cards, and get your reaction to it.

Re: GPLP next game thread
Oh, you mean the ENHANCED edition (not the pure original version, because they got cut from the launch version to minimize controversy)...
...but yeah, I *think* that might violate Twitch's terms of service
To be honest, I like the cards - the artwork is very nice...but they ARE a little gratuitious. :/

Re: GPLP next game thread
oooo, I know they've played it previously, but it WOULD be in GPLP's wheelhouse!
Re: GPLP next game thread
Recettear. You can probably beat the "story" in like, one, two sessions tops? Good palette cleanser. Not exactly a bad game, but definitely one with a lot of oddities to make fun of.
Alternately try Wonderful 101. It's like Revengeance meets Okami with the flair of Viewtiful Joe and a dash of Pikmin. It's hard as hell to figure out how to play well, and absolutely chaotic. There's a p-in-p mode that you can use to keep all of the action on the main screen so it doesn't split it onto the WiiU touchpad.

Re: GPLP next game thread
Even though I gifted it to you, I feel, after playing a chunk of Double Dragon Neon, you guys would have some fun with this. Includes 2 player co-op as well.
Re: GPLP next game thread
The problem with Reccatear is that it's very dialogue-heavy, which is bad for streaming.
May those who accept their fate find happiness; Those who defy it, glory!
Re: GPLP next game thread
I'd double up a previous vote for Magicka, good, fun little game, co-op and lots of good humour. Probably suitable for a 1-2 episode binge

Re: GPLP next game thread
I'll suggest Alpha Protocol again, I think it would be pretty perfect for the GPLP formula.
Re: GPLP next game thread
I think Murdered: Soul Suspect would be a good game for GPLP.

Re: GPLP next game thread
Since "Graham and Maya are bad at video games" isn't in the cards, I'd recommend co-op Octodad: Dadliest Catch.
Re: GPLP next game thread
I would second both Alpha Protocol and Murdered: Soul Suspect, with the mention that at around 15-20 hours, Alpha Protocol might be a little bit too long.

Re: GPLP next game thread
IIRC, they never did finish Venetica, so there's a precedent to just giving Alpha Protocol one or two sessions...

Why don't they finish Venetica? I honestly want to see where it goes.
