Crapshots - Volume 2

Postby Alex Steacy » 14 Apr 2014, 11:17

Did not realize nothing was going on in this subforum. Talk about Crapshots here! Then when this thread becomes impossibly bloated it will rise in another thread or whatever

This is a better plan than a new thread for each episode.

SHIT! ASS!

I have no idea what inspired "The Film", but something about it inspired me...

For the record I would like my official response to Episode 134 - The String, to be a speed cut of all the doctor who scenes where David Tennant is saying "What?".
for reference see the start of The Runaway Bride Christmas Special [2006], or the start of the Voyage of the Damned Christmas Special [2007]
Hurrah, wikis!

I apologize if you don't watch/like Doctor Who.

I was just upset that the string was plugged into the neutral of the receptacle. Completly ruined the whole concept of string powered junk.

I think the best part is that this is far from the weirdest thing either of them have done.

"The String" was probably among the strangest things I've ever seen. I was NOT expecting that. Excellent.

The weird, vaguely-sexual-but-not-quite Crapshots this season have been delightful.

I agree. Ive been enjoying the strangeness of the new Crapshots. The stranger more outside the box they are the more times I re-watch them :)

I absolutely love how 136 makes a bizzare kind of sense even to someone unfamiliar with the LRL streams-

but also delivers on a brilliant in-joke for everyone else. Multiple in-jokes, even.

Plus, y'know, Alex in horsehead is just inherently funny.

Oh, and episode 133 was absolutely genius as well. I never know quite how to respond to something so off the wall other than mentioning I laughed like an idiot, annoying the hell out of my sleeping roommate.

(I will revive this thread damnit)

137 - The Genie.
Much clever, many bizarre, wow.

The only problem is that Alex isn't Robin Williams, but still, very good.

I'm slowly going through the backlog of LRR/LT videos (considering that I started watching them "live" on The Couch, thats quite a bit of backlog) so I don't really know if the LT where Paul talks about his plan to have everyone wear the pants Genie!Alex wears, which I watched recently is new or old. That being said, how goes that plan expresed on crewmembers panted/crewmembers total?

Those Hammer pants ended up getting much more legitimate use in videos than I expected they could when I first saw them used.

I'm loving the crossovers between the main videos and the Crapshots. 138 is a great example of finding a larger world being created in the background.

I was expecting 139 to break into "This is Why I'm Paul"
Also, do we have any proof Paul's shirts aren't made of skin?

I wish the longest crapshot ever to be a staring-while-balancing-things-on-their-heads contest between the Pauls.

The first Crapshot to break the minute mark was mono-Paul. Seems strong. Devotion to Paul is a real archetype in this format.

My first top 8 at FNM was a mono-Paul deck. He's seriously broken. A Planeswalker with the Relentless Rats ability and can't be countered as long as you say "This is why, this is why, this is why he's Paul" before you play him.
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

For some reason, "The Film" reminded me of "ASS the Musical."

I'm a long-time visitor, first-time poster, but I only just learned about Crapshots. My favorite is probably "The Cards."
