So it seems they unintentionally duplicated Welcome to Nightvale's '(day of the week) has been cancelled' joke, but everything else was pure LRR. Graham has an unusually good radio voice, they should have done this years ago!

I really like this. The improv is solid and I hope they keep in the cuts/corpsing moments as I think it really adds.

I thought it was pretty funny, also the ads we're pretty fun.

I wasn't a fan at first of the corpsing, as I was getting into the idea of nsburg as a real (weird) place. I also thought it was going to be a bit more scripted at first, too - less like the Qwerpline of Desert Bus and more like a typical radio show.

However, the more I listen to it, the more I love it. I'm interested to see how stranger it's going to get.
It's not epic unless it's dactylic hexameter.

It's going to be interesting how they balance the scripted (or at least edited) aspects with the improv aspects.

I suspect they'll handle it like Feed Dump: general plan, completely overrided by improv if it becomes funnier.

I am almost 100% sure the "day of the week canceled" is not a Nightvale original joke. I am sure I have heard it before, and I know the basic idea has been around for a long time. There is a book that was published in 1969 called "Due to Lack of Interest, Tomorrow Has Been Canceled".

As for the show, I like it so far. Not sure what my favorite part was, but I did like the intern bit.

I think mine has to be the traffic report... especially Ian's spicy Indian food imagery. On a recent re-listen, I was crying. Beej's voices are a close second.

I think my favorite part was the ending. Or maybe the beginning. But the middle was good too...

That was brilliant.

The thing that amazes me is that it was all improvised. :o

It took me a while to realize that this was some sort of improv-type thing and not really a traditional sketch. It didn't say so in the video description or anything. Or the video, I think (if it did, I missed it).

I kind of assumed it was a sketch about a podcast or something until I saw the run-time.

I really enjoyed that, QWOP and DERP line are some of my favorite segments from Desert bus. Question, I assume you are going to mix it up quite a bit, but are you planning on having the "Caller" segments from Desert Bus, where people have questions and the host gives questionable answers. Those were always my favorite

I loved this. While the format is reminiscent of "Welcome to Night Vale", the fact that the announcers are not as intrinsically bizarre as what they're reporting on means that they can have more rational reactions to the madness around them, which I think lends the show a distinctly different tone.

I thought it worked well and would love to see more of it.

Not really a fan of this one, Maybe it is because I have never heard/seen a Desert buss Qwerpline and all the in-jokes simply flew over my head I don't know, that is what it sorta felt like, but I will say I found it quite charming that you could clearly hear the LRR crew having fun with this project.

My father made sure that Firesign Theater was an important part of my comedy formation, so Qwerpline is right up my joke alley.

I too have never heard a Desert Bus Qwerpline, and this had me laughing out loud.

For everybody who isn't familiar with the origins of the Qwerpline during Desert Bus, I have put together a playlist of all the Derplines, Qwoplines, and Qwerplines of the past few years.

Special thanks to Cawendaw and Gamingnerd for capturing the first Derplines during DB5, as the Video Strike Team was not in existence yet.

I giggled throughout. Casn't wait for the next one, My only request is, can we call in? You could set up a Skype address, we could record messages, and be terrible citizens you could riff off.
Videos I have appeared in so far: 1 (and counting...)

I can say that there aren't really any in-jokes in there. The only established rule on the original show is that Alex plays an exhausted misanthrope and gives callers horrendous, usually fatal advice.

Hey, thanks! This is super useful - I haven't worked through the entire backlog of Desert Bus videos yet.
