Now that we know what Highlander IS... why do we love it?

I really want to get into CanLander... And the aspects of Commander that appeal to me are shared by CanLander. I like doing the 1v1 Commander games, and I like making decks that aren't about the Commander, so they're more like 99-card decks where the Commander is just there because it's required.

The only thing I don't like is the 20-life rule. I think I like the life padding that Commander allows, mainly so my durdle decks can actually get off the ground before I'm just dead.

I'm wondering if my plethora of Commander decks, particularly the ones that don't rely on the Commander, can be turned into CanLander decks easily.
