Phone Manner

Postby Graham » 14 Dec 2009, 19:44

This is sort of how it feels when you get a job rejection over the phone, isn't it?
It was the inspiration anyway.

That was an impressive set of sounds there. I gotta say, combining the two ... genius. I can't wait to hear the podcast for this one. :)

Hrm, the name of the video this reminds me of currently escapes me, but I have the feeling someone else will chime in with it pretty quick.

As for the video itself, I found it both entertaining and accurate. With the belch/fart sound effect being particularly notable in its amusement.

Completely unexpected though.

I like it.
Replace belching and farting with any other task and you have most job situations.

Is that how it feels to get a rejection call back? Cause I've never gotten one of those... though in all honesty I would [refer being farted at for a minute than "we'll be calling people to let them know by the end of the week" and never getting a call.

I think this may have been Alex's tamest appearance on LRR.
Otherwise, I'm completely satisfied with professional flatulence.
There is sarcasm in my post. If you are smart, you should be able to find it.

Ha, anyone else get to thinking that Graham and Paul in commodoreHustle may have been talking about this upon saying "Like, a really wet fart, that just goes on"

Yeah, I know, not really.

Dammit, now I'm going to get phone farts from all my friends. Thanks a lot, LRR!

Yes, you captured the spirit of over-the-phone rejections quite nicely. It combines the essence of "Sorry you weren't good enough" with a subtle flavor of "Up yours, loser". And apparently, bad cheese...

The fart sounds were obviously done with a mouth. Do you take me for a fool? You charlatans. Why didn't you just give me a call? I have extensive records of all my flatulence, categorizing them by time of day, food consumed and pitch.

For real: Once I drank Coke, and I don't normally drink Coke, cuz it makes me gassy, and I straightened myself out to fart and I let loose a two or three second fart that let all the pressure out of my gut. I just started laughing because of how much better I felt. I wish someone had seen it.

Ahh yes, highbrow lowbrow. Soemthing that the LRR crew have mastered beautifully: taking lowbrow jokes for the lowest common denominator, and elevating them up to the highest and most iscerning of humorous tastes.

I like it, and that is totally to be taken as a compliment.

That was certainly unexpected. In a positive way though. Certainly not one of my favorites, but still very entertaining and amusing.

Also, HOLY CRAP EARLY VIDEO! You're becoming all reliable and stuff! Have you finally taken the step and replaced the crew with look-a-like robots?

Why didn't I think of it like that? Kind of seems like the same level as "Fun with Condoms/Microwaves" and, in a way, Buttstallation. Just more scripted.

In actually there are others just as good, but suited to different situations.

Wasn't really my cup of tea, I appreciate the angle, but I guess it was just all too subtle. Probably doesn't help that I don't have much experience with job call backs.
This is not my signature.
