Re: Phone Manner
I enjoyed it, in a quiet manner. Definitely enjoyed the strange-concept-in-a-dull-environment theme but I can understand how some might not have enjoyed it for being less "rofl" and more "hehe".

Whu. . . I. . . wat is this I don't even. Not was I was expecting at all. Still good though, but. . . kind of jarring? Whatever, five purty stars on YouTube.
Was I the only one who thought Graham's training was going to turn into an Underpantaloons-esque montage?
Also, Alex still has crazy eyes.

Re: Phone Manner
I was kind of hoping that the first joke would be a throwaway. Oh well.
Well, hallo there.
Re: Phone Manner
After seeing the reactions, I kinda wish it had zommed out to show Jer and Tally watching it on YouTube.
T: "Why are you showing me this?"
J: "It's funny."
T: "It's fart jokes. It's disgusting."
J: "What? It's great!"
T: "It's gross."
J: "Oh, grow up and laugh at the fart jokes."
...
Still, interesting video. I seem to be unable to form an opinion on it.

Re: Phone Manner
To say the least the topic shocked me a bit, but I actually couldnt help but laugh at the montage of trying to get the minute and a half farting. Oh fart jokes why do you never get old.
Re: Phone Manner

Machalllewis wrote:So, is that just how the Chairman communicates? Is that why farting is so important in this company? Because thats how the Chairman expresses himself at all times? Grahams character seemed to understand it so there must have been some sort of meaning there.
... did Grahams farts mean stuff as well? Or was he simply farting?
I believe the joke is supposed to be that since the Chairman is farting into the phone, it means that Graham's been fired, since that is how he ends rejection notices.

I thought this was pretty funny. Very silly, but still, I enjoyed it.

Oh and you can just call me Dave.
No need for the whole screen name.

Re: Phone Manner
I think this video certainly wasn't the funniest I've ever seen but it did have some top notch moments. As Graham mentions "The increased Burrito Budget" and the "Getting any lactose intolerant off the streets" tickled me more than the actual farting bits.
So to sum up not my favourite but a good video nontheless and it included a training montage so what's not to like....

Re: Phone Manner
With regard to the new members of the forum that were a bit surprised, LRR doesn't do these types of videos often, but they are part of their repertoire and in the finest tradition of Monty Python, I may add. I'm not a big fan of fart humor so I was more smiles than LOLs during this video, however I can still appreciate a fairly well-crafted script and execution of the video. LRR has always been about making videos that are "funny to us" recognizing they're not always aiming to please 80% of their fanbase with every video. Making pure gold for 20% of the fanbase is part of what creates and keeps a devoted fanbase.
I think any frustration Graham may exhibit in video discussion threads is more a matter of seeing this same argument playing out over and over and over again every time they release one of these videos. I'm glad to see the tenor of objections seem to be more in the vein of, "I don't find it funny, but I guess someone else would," instead of, "that wasn't funny and I expect more from LRR."

I agree with Dave-O_Boy, this is a very silly sketch but it was still enjoyable.

Re: Phone Manner
Really loved the video. Definitely one of my favorites from this season along with Killer Instinct.
One thing I noticed that I didn't see anyone else bring up, is that in the last shot of Graham one of the lights is visible on the right side of the frame. Though if I was Paul, running the camera in an area where there was that much flatulence floating around, I probably wouldn't have noticed it either.

Re: Phone Manner
All I can say is, if you're going to do a fart joke, it might as well be done this way. Kudos on the idea of belching and farting. That chairman doesn't know what he's talking about

one of the things that made this fall a little flat for me was that i saw this one coming from a mile off.
I finished watching the vid and sort of went: "wait... what?" entertaining, interesting, even funny at times, but i'm not really sure what to make of it. a very silly vid and no one of my favourites, but interesting nontheless

It was the inspiration anyway.
Very much so. I think a minute of farting would be far preferable to the actual conversations.

Yay fart jokes!
Also, god bless you for putting music over the eating scenes. Listening to someone eat while mic'd is just about the grossest noise ever.

Re: Phone Manner
Wait. Am I allowed to both laugh at this and be mature? Oh, who cares, it's good to have a bit of fart joke once in a while. Like sugar. It's just when it happens too much it can be bad for you.
Anyway, since I don't think anyone else pointed out:-
A wild Boom has appeared! Behind Alex's head at about 1 minute in.

Re: Phone Manner
Considering the serious state of renovation that office appears to be in, I think there being a wild boom is almost qualifiable as set dressing.
