That explains Beard Paul.

The new A9 logo is pretty sweet.

And the vid is sweet too. In a manly sense of the word.

Pretty good. Must have been a pain to get into that gym over a few days and try to remember exactly what everyone was wearing.

Is that the same gym you used for Slacking for Gold?

Very funny, I was expecting a joke at Matt's expense over his lack of facial hair, but that was brilliant.

I personally loved the "come to Vancover, no seriously we need the money" (or something) bit it was quite hilarious!

How many weeks was this filmed over?

I found the opening and closing segments a little rushed, but beyond that....

So THAT'S why Paul had a beard on that stream a few weeks ago....

I got a particular kick out of the beard levels, especially "playoff" and "frontier bill".

In a real contest, though, I think Jer would win hands down.

Also, this entire concept reminded me immediately of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=081dHOYY6IE

loved it. kudos for editing it to show the competition in progress. and, as someone who has been watching the Olympics, Graham played an excellent live commentator.

I don't know. I think whoever could pull-off the "hobo" or "Billy Mays" would be legendary...

That video would win comedy gold at the olympics. I loved the ending so much I choked on my drink laughing. The instant beard for Matt, the reference to the women's beard growing competition, and the final line where he thanks his "totally non-fake" beard are the three best jokes, and all made rewind the video multiple times.

Mmmm topical jokes. A sport I could compete in too.

Good to see A9 back, and Graham does indeed make a great play-by-play commentator. Hopefully we'll see another Team Canada vid soon.

You had me at the title. This one was absolutely great. I not only appreciate all the planning that must have gone into it, but the acting on the beard growing was hilarious.

Also, I guess this shouldn't surprise me given the ENN intro, but the Action 9 News logo is looking pretty spiffy these days.

Am I not the only person who thinks they filmed this in reverse, gradually shaving more off each time, rather than growing the beards out over the course of several days? I could be wrong of course, but I would've thought that would have been the easiest way to do it?

The punch line was pretty obvious, but I loved the idea for this.

I was half expecting something to do with Tim's beard growing and the referee winning the competition. As it was though, it was still awesome. I only expected a different twist than there actually was. Graham did great on the commentating and the new face of A9 is looking good!

Yeah, I can't tell if these guys are trollin' or not. I wouldn't put it past the Escapees to seriously think they filmed it over the course of weeks, though.

Anyway. SO GOOD. Just. . . so good. I thought the joke with Matt was that he's so bad at growing facial hair, even his characters can't do it. But the real joke made me actually lol. And the expressions on everyone's faces. . . wow. Well done all around, guys, well done.

So, like, if the TP rips, you're disqualified? Due to pre-grown stubble? And how many plies are we talking?

I personally thought Canada was going to get its second gold medal of the Vancouver games. Nice to see that other nations get a look in.
Beard Growing is definitely a Winter Olympics discipline and I figure Matt's norse bloodline allowed him to spout one so quickly. *Cough, cough*

Seriously though: Well written, well acted, well edited and very funny.

As anyone who knows me will tell you, the way to my heart is a goood beard and/or moustache.

Good job, LRR team. Good job.
