It was shot in the same gym as Slacking for Gold. Going by the credits I assume that you were allowed in and you did not sneak in to film.

I was surprised you didn't end it with someone pulling off Matt's completely not at all fake beard.

I laughed SO hard.
(Seriously, my mom came to check if I was okay.)

Pure brilliance. Enjoyable humor, good acting and excellent (and authentic, if I dare say) camerawork and editing.

I was quite disappointed at first as I was really hoping for an update on the Canadian Slacking Team, especially since the new T-shirts are currently up for pre-orders. However, once the event started I couldn't stop giggling. The little twists & turns made it all the better & Finland's final rally at the end was hilarious.

Nice throwback to The Worst Homosexual with the "Completely real & not at all fake beard" comment.

The beard "growing" worked out nicely. I still can't tell whether it was filmed over a period of weeks starting with smooth skin or in reverse with the beards trimmed down between shots.

It still would have been nice to see reference to the Slacking team, but the Olympics aren't over just yet.

Soooo "Figure Curling." As in, the sport of curling?

Gotta say.

Friggin' Hilarious.

That was easily the funniest video in a while. Especially happy with the end and I gotta say two things:-

A) I'm very happy that Miles got the silver. Go Team GB!

and

B) I'm also very happy that Jer didn't try and put on a horribley fake British accent.
Nothing to see here.

I can tell they shot Paul's in reverse, but I think Jer just grew his on the spot.

I am sure you could have made some sort of doping joke about the not at all fake beard.

As has been noticed on the Escapist Matt's character's name is not very Finnish. Finnish is quite a different language than Swedish, Norwegian and Danish which are all closely related North Germanic languages.

Was there something wrong with the microphone used for commentary or am I just hearing things?

Either way, that was a great. I hope there's a throwback to Matt's nefarious deeds in a future video.

I was looking at some of the tweets on Graham's twitter yesterday and there was a brief exchange between him and Russell regarding what I can only assume to be this video regarding a recut following something that happened over the weekend. I can guess what the event was, but I'm intrigued to know what was in the first version that was removed or rephrased for this one, which could've been perceived as bad taste following what happened...

We had originally included a luge joke which we felt would not be appropriate following the tragic death of the Georgian luge athlete on Friday.

I don't think we really need to go into more details than that.

Also, if you all had recorded it in forward order, as opposed to shoot then shave, you could have shaved Paul up to be Ulric and we could introduce the Escapist to our favorite legion of evil, The Warriors of Darkness. But Beardy Paul was a good revisit.

I wonder if that slam poet would have won out over Matt with that totally epic neck beard...

Yeah, Hans Egan sounds more like Swedish, which (most of) us Finns hate :x

But first... OMG, OMG, OMG you mentioned Finland in one of your videos :o

And Matt was the 'honorary' Finn

Maybe you have guessed by now that I'm a huge fan and I'm from Finland

Once more: OMG!

Apologies for the fail at a correct Finnish name.

But! Please note the real Finnish anthem at the end!

Totally forgot about that. Points for the correct anthem, definitely. It was almost 3 am when I made my first post and I was quite tired and delirious.

One of the best videos you've done in a while in my opinion, from both an acting and writing perspective.
One thing I think could've been interesting is if, in the interview, Paul had grown a bit after every snap back to him. Though I guess Olympic beard growers would be able to control their growth, e.g. in interviews with 100m sprinters they don't just start running. Also, it may have given away the style of how you would shoot the growing too soon.
All in all though great vid!
