I, too, have never seen the Two Ronnies sketch, but I really liked this a lot because it's just clever, clever writing. I'm also sad to say that I couldn't get through most of the linked Two Ronnies sketches because of the references that Brits would understand.

I agree with whomever on the Escapist said that the tension of having a breakup, a business deal, and a customer return transaction at the same time made things funnier than a date and a grocery list and I think it's because each person in their side of the conversation has a similar goal (to win the argument/deal) and so the conversations would flow that much easier.

I just read through the escapist comments and I can't believe the number of people who didn't get the joke... I pretty much got the premise when I saw the picture and the tagline

And soooo many people kept linking the two ronnies thing, like two posts below where someone else did it, does no one read the comments before they post?

...sigh, this is why I love the forums here

Being more than a day late I figured I would have nothing original to say, and I don't. another video filled with win. I agree it reminded me of Eyewitness accounts (One of my favorites) I also had not seen the Two Roonies sketch and did not find it particularly funny. LRR however, is full of funny, and win, and internets.

@TriciaLynn A lot of 2 Ronnies sketches haven't dated well because they reference politicians of the time. However that doesn't take away the cleverness of the writing. Watch the News at Ton sketch, I don't get half the references but it's still very clever.

I actually think this sketch had better timing that the 2 Ronnies one, and the fact that you used 3 people was pretty clever, it must have been hellishly difficult to write.

Graham, how does it feel to have your sketches compared to British Comedy greats like Monty Python or 2 Ronnies? I know some people accuse you of ripping them off, but is it a compliment or do you hate being likened to other people?

P.S. I was sad that donghuffer didn't appear as an insult.

Actually, by this point I've gotten more enjoyment out of LoadingReadyRun than I have out of Monty Python. But that could just be because of the overwhelming amount of stuff.

Still, I think it's the involvement that gets me. Graham and the other members are so involved with their fans, even just us here on the forums, that it gives a much stronger feeling than anything else in the comedy world.

I must say, I agreed with Shadowflame666 before I even knew how involved the crew were with the fans. With CHustle, Phailhaüs, ENN and Unskippable, these guys have a lot more variety than any of those classic acts. Especially since they are running most of these alternate shows at the same time, while managing to make every single one as funny as usual, it's a pretty impressive situation they have going on here.
I've not seen a video yet that seems to have suffered from 'last minute' disease. Videos like this that must have been hell to write can still emerge in the same week as other genius videos.

I'll stop... I look WAY to sycophantic right now.

Even their last minute episodes are gold, and often some of their funniest. XD

And zomg! Graham talked to me! I think... I've had contact! I feel so special.

I have a theory! Graham was G-Star in this video, and he just now got his record deal back, so maybe we should be expecting some more 64K?

I think that 64K, like Story Guy and The Warriors of Darkness, have been retired as relics of a bygone era. Just a guess, of course, but it seems to be the case.

None of those characters are retired, we just haven't used them.

Story Guy is awesome, what more reason do you need to bring him back?

I love Story Guy, but he really had his arc. The first Story Guy vids were awesome as you got to pick out the subtext in all of his verbosity, and the occasional visual clue. The "punchline", such as it was, was in Vest, with an added joke in the Rumble. How do you do new jokes with that character?

Unless he gets added to the Kane and Crowthorn organization, but that seems like an entirely differently style of joke. Story Guy is awesome because of his subtlety whereas the Mercenaries are awesome because of their over-the-top-ness. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see him again too, but I understand why he has gone MIA.

64K, though. I can't defend their absence. Get crackin', Jer!

I think the moving to the Escapist would be a good reason to do at least one Story Guy video. New audience and all.

64k, they just gotta come back.

WoD, evidently it takes Paul about a week to turn into Grizzly Adams, so I think it's not that farfetched.

Story Guy needs a story to tell on the Escapist? WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SO?

Reason to bring him back: He's awesome, duh? But really, he's been in hiding for the past few years since the last mission (See: VEST) working as a video game developer/librarian/videographer/etc. He's at work, talking about his new glasses or what not. He picks up his phone, reads what we assume is a reactivation message, and finishes his story and as he leaves, we see him pick up a balaclava that he had in his briefcase for work.

There's a framework for ya. Go.
