Informational Presentation
Re: Informational Presentation
Been watching Newswipe recently?
Re: Informational Presentation
I did really enjoy this video and it was strangely reminiscent of 'Look Around You' videos which mocked 80s educational shows, particularly the one about Numbers.
I'm also joining the crowd that actually thought Jer was Paul until I realised it was Jer from the credits. Not sure why I thought it was Paul, but I did...

Re: Informational Presentation
this was funny.
But I just couldn't get over paul was no corpse.
but it would obviously be unrealistic to have Paul be damaged by a graph, it would be like having kryptonite work against batman.

I did think Paul was the corpse until the credits (sorry Jer)
After a pie chart has killed somebody does it turn into Pacman (but blue)?

Althought my first thought was, that it was just an un-scientific test, as they do in so many Infomercials, and it was in fact that he was left there without any food or water.

Paul would have somehow improved the graph... probably greatly increasing its killing potential... and to play some obscure retro gaming system.

This was what I was thinking as well. It pulled off that similar subtle parody of the old 70s and 80s informative videos. The music was spot on as was Kathleen's attire. Very very funny in it's own right, but for the same reasons as Look Around You.
Am I right in thinking that the Crew is aware of Look Around You?
I did find myself wondering where the vid was going to go, and then we got the silliness, which made me laugh very hard. The stinger was brilliant as well.
Finally I realise why paying for HQ on the escapist was worthwhile, The ability to read the upcoming video schedule. Though I suspect there may have been some subtle alterations. Some of those videos sound too good to be true.

Re: Informational Presentation
I thought this video was amazingly funny, and thought the pacing and gradual buildup to ridiculousness was perfect (really good acting by Kathleen, and the attack came out of nowhere). Though I have to ask, in the first pie chart, what is being compared? Graphs shown in the video that are in the video vs. Graphs shown in the video that are not in the video? Or is the inappropriate use of a pie chart part of the joke and I'm just overanalyzing?

Weird, I love Charlie Brooker. My current favourite person. Beat out NPH (who was the former champion) in 2009.
Nothing to see here.

I take back what I said, on second viewing its enjoyable though far from your best. I felt Kathleen underplayed it too much, she was too much the straightwoman, and that the graphs weren't ridiculous enough.

Re: Informational Presentation
I don't know if the schedule is true or not, but I definitely want to see a commodore hustle episode with a gay chicken and Nerf.
This was funny, but as has been said, it drags a bit. I think that's a side-effect of the style you're imitating, though. Points for authenticity, but it takes away from the comedy just a bit.

The murderous pie chart startled me, and I have no idea why. Guess I wasn't expecting it.

Based on me-holding-a-protractor-to-my-screen, I estimate the deadly portion of a circle graph to be approximately 20 degrees, or 5.56%.

It was good guys, I didn't laugh like I do for most of your videos but I did see what you were doing and enjoyed it a lot.
P.S. ...I thought Paul was the body too. However it must be said that Jer did a great job.

Re: Informational Presentation
I quite enjoyed this video. It definitely felt like Quantum Documentary for a bit but I'm glad it went in its own direction. If the entire thing was dead serious it would grown boring.
Am I the only one that recognized Jer as the corpse right away? I'm certainly not upset about it. I should remind people that Bearded Paul plays corpses & not so much shaven paul.
So what do you do when you have to open the door blocked by the white board?
