Informational Presentation

Everything you ever needed to know about graphs.

edit: I'm in a meeting most of the morning, so the Unskippable thread is going to be late. I'll also fix the front page when I get back. Sorry.

Hah, awesome. :D

Loved this video, even if it was a wee bit dry to begin with.

You....

I....

You had to wait until two seconds after I thought "Screw it, I'm not waiting!" and posted my response in the Escapist thread. Dammit, Matt!

Oh well, here it is:

ThrashJazzAssassin wrote:The visual style was spot on, and the beginning and ending were solid, but it faltered in the middle as it switched between Quantum Documentary and Time is Money modes. I think you needed to come up with just one extra graph that was funny in its own right in order to sustain the lengthy build-up, rather than continue to throw out "Aaaah! More graphs!" graphs, because I had time to get bored before Kathleen's nervousness became entertaining.

When I started watching I assumed it was just going to be another meta humor video, but I totally didn't expect that twist. Well done! I was left rather nonplussed after the stinger, though... it didn't really make sense to me, though that may have had something to do with my disappointment at finding out that the dead body was played by Jer instead of Paul (not that Jer did a bad job, but ya know, it's kind of Paul's role).

I'm not sure if that wall is just off-white or if you need more lighting, but it looks a little dingy.

edit: OH! Watching the credits for unskippable reminded me: Graham was right, that music was almost too perfect.

Yeah... is it bad that I was convinced Jer was Paul initially? I was completely weirded out when I realised it wasn't.

Also, very amusing use of subtle humour in this video. Reminded me a lot of Quantum Documentary. Also violence. Tasty tasty violence.

I'm torn because I always enjoy it when the humor takes a left turn, as it did part way through this one, but I really liked the Quantum Documentary dead seriousness of the beginning. I think it's a funnier video with the killer graphs, but I kind wish I could see how the video would have gone if you'd played it straight the whole time. In the absence of alternate-dimension LRR, I'll just use my imagination.

I'm surprised you didn't make any bear graphs. I would've loved a bear graph, even if this wasn't a "you-playing-you video".

Although the tracking on the sliver at the end was excellent. Sometimes it doesn't work out as great as that, but you nailed it (figuratively speaking).
"Flat beer or a lumpy mattress. Take your pick."
"I'd prefer a flat mattress."
"Hmm.. Well, it could be done.. If I take the lumps out of the mattress, and put them in the beer, you'd have a flat mattress and a lumpy beer!"

I understood the video, but I didn't find it funny at all. Jer's zombie revival was incredible, though.

I liked this video. At first I was a little confused, thinking it was going to get weird, or someone was going to jump out or something, but I liked it. I lol'd when Kathleen was sitting down, and her speech then. So spot on.

Loved the outfit too. Please tell me you had to go out and buy those glasses Kathleen???

Oh my goodness, I adore this video. I was laughing through the whole thing. I love meta humor, and the twist caught me by surprise.

The dingy 1970's patina, Kathleen's glasses... spot on! So very good.

Maybe I've just been forced to watch too many informational videos, but I really like this video.

I was honestly shocked to see Jer being the dead body. Paul has mastered that role to perfection over many years

Paul is in fact un-dead, and as such wouldn't make a very good corpse.

Loved it. :)

Considerable laughing was heard.

Anyone else wonder if the crew had a discusion about exactley how much of a pie chart is needed to be lethal?

Incidentally, what percentage was it?

Looks like commodoreHustle will be returning on May 10th based on the board in the background of the shot at 2:25 :D (Looks like Andy is down for some filming too)

The similarity to Quantum Documentary made me smile, wasn't expecting the ending though which was good

Yeah like everyone else I found this one kinda slow with a bit of a sudden increase of pace at the end, especially around the worry bit. Not that I didn't like the slow parts, I was smiling throughout at the recognition from having seen such types of presentations, it was just not outright lulzworthy.

Graph zombie? One of the best stingers so far. Green is still the best though.

Was I the only one expecting Kathleen to be named Olive Snarfleburger? Must be those glasses.

As to the video itself, amusing, but needed to be more ridiculous, especially around the midpoint.

Also, thanks for showing us the video schedule.

...unless what was shown was just an elaborate con? Or are you still claiming laziness?
