Well it was remarkably accurate, in any case. I mean, I thought it was Ke$ha.

Yeah, I laughed at it. No matter how crude the joke, she deserves it.

You know, I actually found this a little while ago. It's a re-mix of Tik Tok but with Scout lines from Team Fortress 2. It's surprisingly good. :D

I cannot help myself from dancing to her songs. I don't know why. I'm pretty sure media execs have discovered gay kryptonite and are purposfully releasing albums that we can't help but buy. How else can you explain my iPod randomly going from Pink Floyd to Lady Gaga! Look at Glee! I totally buy into that Ke$ha's screeching being put through some computer process to achieve this.

I honestly was expecting the CD to be Gravitic Warp, but that might have been an in-joke too far for the Escapist crowd. As it was it filled the gap, it got a laugh from me and the Big E crowd found it the best bit of the video.

Tim wrote:I thought the Ke$ha joke filled in a hole in the sketch that would have otherwise probably been just a shot of Matt standing there awkwardly. Better to play the Ke$ha joke for laughs than to play a "this is awkward, lol" joke.

You know that if nothing interesting is happening for a while you don't actually have to show every single second of it in real time, right? ;)

I thought the Ke$ha joke drew attention to the fact that nothing much was happening at that point, because the momentum of the sketch seemed to falter. Also it was a bit too obviously "Now let's show the funny CD text to the audience", which caused me suspension-of-disbelief problems; the moment that Graham says "One second" and turns to go, Matt turns round, walks straight to the stereo, picks up the CD and turns it towards the camera.

Okay, that's enough of me nitpicking the one problem I had with the video.

Well, it was sort of necessary to draw the scene out, because it's obviously going to take a while to gain the trust of bed bugs.

I heartily approve of simulating fire by having Kathleen swing a lamp to and fro and editing in embers. Not just because it worked, in its own low-budget kind of way, but because it sounds like lots of fun to shoot.

So this was posted by the Discovery Channel two days ago...

I'd love to see the looks people gave you guys; Kathleen waving a lamp to and fro whilst you converse about burning buildings and bedbug infestations. Quite fishy.

Actually if I recall correctly, the crew has asserted that having a boom mic with you is the key to being taken seriously as filmmakers by passers-by (as opposed to, say, just dicking around with a camera), and so that kind of thing doesn't happen often.

Yeah, I was going to make a proper joke out of that, but I decided it was probably best to quit while I could.

I quite liked the Ke$ha joke. Yes it was crude, but it was still funny. Awesome video overall. The main problem was that i was just thinking from the start 'burn the mattress and buy a new one", but then i guess that's kinda the joke...

Wait, what is wrong with Glee?

I like that show

It's on a urinal in I SAW What You Did There. That's the earliest I remember seeing it. I'm pretty sure it's been in nearly every video since then.

Holy. Crap. So it is. I never saw (pun not intended) that before. I had no idea it had been showing up for so long. I thought this was something that started after the move to the Escapist. My list of puppy appearances must be woefully incomplete. I'd better start watching the videos better.

So having recently caught myself up on the last couple of years of LRR (I have been a bad fan and absent for too long), this has to be one of my favourite videos you've done. Possibly it's because of my own experience with bed bugs. Possibly because it's just really, really funny.
