Re: Getting in Touch
This video feels really oldschool to me. Maybe because of how low the production is (this could be the wrong terminology). Three actors, dubbed audio, not too much going on. I dunno.
Regardless, I still really like it. Especially how everyone seems to have these voices.

Re: Getting in Touch
So getting in touch with your inner child is similar to having schizophrenia?
Witty and humorous signature here.
Re: Getting in Touch
Of course Matt is Self Doubt. That made me giggle all by itself.
I'd call it "simple" production, not "low" production, but yeah, it's definitely less involved than some of the other videos recently. Not a bad thing, just different.
Also, YAY TAG!

Re: Getting in Touch
Wait, wait, I've got this
Alex: Alex
Paul: Self-confidence
Matt: Self-doubt
Graham: Always wants chips
Jeremy: Inner child?
And maybe I'm just crazy, but I would love to have those kinds of inner voices.
And I loved the stinger.
(Who's Cmaeon, and why does he/she get thanks?)

Re: Getting in Touch
The stinger actually made me "awww".
I did think the video was too short, but then I realised 3 minutes had gone by already so it was actually a decent length after all... just didn't feel like it.

Re: Getting in Touch
Simple yet funny, a good combination.
Also, Alex reminds us all that Graham and Matt aren't the only ones who can do good 'face-acting'.
On a more 'gamble-orientated' note, what colour will Kathleens hair be next? I got money on green.

Yeah, that definitely sounds better. And I agree.

CMAEON appears to be a company with offices in Victoria (specifically 210-19 Dallas Road). I'm guessing that's where they shot this video.

As far as I can tell, yes.WAYF wrote:Jeremy: Inner child?
Anyway, it went from good to great, and the stinger really was adorable.

Oh goodness that was brilliant.
I love Paul's scripts, they're always so silly, but yet so completely logical, in the same way as a witch weighing the same as a duck in the Holy Grail.

Simple, but fun.
I really liked the stinger.. childlike breeziness like some xkcd strips, only with Alex and Kathleen!

Re: Getting in Touch
I think I need to subscribe to the Escapist Publisher's Club to see this video in high res, because I'm dying to know what was written on all the yellow sticky notes on the cubicle wall.
I really liked the way the end of the video was scripted. James's last line, a straightforward twist on the inner-voices concept, could have been the stinger, but it wasn't. Instead we got a stinger that reincorporated several ideas from earlier in the video, and that made for a much more satisfying ending.

I forgot to mention this earlier, but I laughed at when I saw the book was published by Papyrus Press.

Re: Getting in Touch
I lost my shit at Papyrus Press.
Really love this video, stinger was too adorable. The new haircolor made me cringe a bit though, I tried neon once and it faded out horrendously. (So yes, it could end up green next.....)

Re: Getting in Touch
Its the honest simple delight in Alex's face when Kathleen says "yes I do" that makes that stinger so awww-able.
And heck, wouldn't we all love to find a partner who's up for icecream and tag? We should all listen to inner child more often.
Speeaking of which, Jer as inner child =

Man. Paul really writes the weirdest strips. That said, "That's the part of you that always wants chips," totally slew me.

I need to start asking more people "You're not me, are you?"
Also: I had to stop the video after the title of the book... I couldn't concentrate on the video through all the laughter.

Re: Getting in Touch
This was really funny. Seriously, I was laughing throughout. Even between jokes there was Alex just listening & I was imagining watching through this again without sound just because the video would be that much sillier. The stinger was definite awww too.
I'm not surprised this was a Paul script. I'm not usually perceptive on who wrote what, but when I saw his name in the credits it just made sense.
I think this video would convert easily to an audio-only format. Say, for a LRR CD. I've been hinting they should consider it in future if they ever find the time to do such a thing, but until then I can record the audio for a playlist on my Zune.

Paul's scripts are weird? If Kathleen had written it, Alex's self-doubt would have come to life and pushed him down the stairs. And then Cthulhu would have stopped by to molest the corpse and eat some chips.

Re: Getting in Touch
That would fall under refuge in audacity though. Paul manages to avoid that while being incredibly weird.
