Re: The Whole Story - Fire Hydrants
I've never been a fan of the Fire Hydra NT. They based the next-gen Fire Hydra XP on it when it was really only designed for use in certain specific situations (i.e. fires). I really feel like conflagration reduction technology has been dumbed down ever since that decision was made.
Another great job with the artwork, Tensen! Typos notwithstanding.
Having the music in the stinger made it even funnier: I am most appoint.

Sheer awesome- I'm glad to see the Whole Story returning, it's a great concept. Maybe you could do one on sliced bread... I say this only because I noticed the other day that split-top bread is a full 50 cents more than round-top bread where I live, and now I want to know why. Even a fake answer would be right if came from Nigel.

Paul really nailed his part (again) and it felt.. dunno.. more.. solidly written than the first whole story.
Background noise was a bit nagging though.

Re: The Whole Story - Fire Hydrants
I had to pause at the dragons burning plasma TVs until I stopped laughing.
That said, that occurs at the start and it's later said that TVs won't be invented for 400 years. Is that part of the joke?
None the less I loved it. Happy to see Nigel again

As a man who has dedicated his life to the study of history, I am impressed by your historical accuracy, mostly. It is my duty to point out that flat screens weren't around during this time, they were all still using neon tubes
Do you guys mind. I'm trying to write an essay
Its probably not a good thing I feel the need to put a disclaimer after everything I say

This is one of those videos where the giggles just start to roll in and then don't stop. Paul is so perfect for this kind of thing.

Quite evidently, all TVs having been destroyed by dragons, they had to be reinvented much later. I wish you'd try to follow a little bit.

Re: The Whole Story - Fire Hydrants
This is ludicrous! It's not accurate at all!
There was never a steep decline in the dragon population, and certainly it wouldn't have had anything to do with plastic six-pack rings. (Even a hatchling's snout is too large to fit inside one, and a dragon could easily slice it open with a claw anyway....) Instead, the number of dragon attacks during the Middle Ages was far exaggerated; dragons were seen as a convenient target for those who didn't want to admit that their thatched-roof cottage was on fire because they had been careless with a lantern, or that the princess would rather run away than be forced to marry some boorish knight. Actual combat between dragons and humans was rare enough--and most of the time the humans wearing tin-can suits were the ones starting it. While dragons do aggressively defend their territory, they largely don't care about humans that keep to themselves.
Seriously, where do you do your research? ;)

I'm so glad you brought this back! It's Paul's version of Story Guy. I thought this was hilarious. The pictures were awesome.
Also, a dragon burned my TV a few hundred years ago and I still haven't replaced it.

The English for the motto of the Union of Fire Hides (and Television Repair People) is something like "As long as it doesn't burn up our land."
This sub-series is really starting to grow on me.

Hell yes. The Whole Story is awesome. I was chuckling the whole way through the video and completely lost it at Fire Hydra.

oh god i love this new little series. one thing that kept nagging at me though was paul's hand gestures... counted 49 'hand motion to show emphasis' and 2 air quotes. just a nit pick, but maybe mix it up in the future

have you ever watched one of the shows this is parodying? It's not at all inaccurate. Those guys pretty much talk with their hands

I didn't notice it the first time, but after a few watches I noticed that there's some ... rustling? in one of the shots.
However, this episode fully cements the Whole Story series as TOTALLY AWESOME SERIES MOAR NAO. Oh, also, it's awesome.
The drawings also added a nice touch; great job with those, Tensen!

I am now anxiously awaiting a twist of some sort wherein Nigel is found to be a Serial Killer or Mafioso or something.

I don't know how true this is, but I was told by a drama teacher that it is 10% to aid communication and 90% to make the person seem less boring, i.e. they are doing something as opposed to just standing there flapping jaw. It's the same reason they walk and talk instead of just staying in one place.
Re: The Whole Story - Fire Hydrants
This was shot about a month ago, pre-"new audio setup", so there's a couple thunks and bumps that shouldn't be there. Sorry guys!
