...what.
No seriously, what.
The Tale of Matt Wiggins
Re: The Tale of Matt Wiggins
Perhaps it's because I liked the original Lonely Island version so much, but I haven't laughed this hard in a while. It wouldn't work at all without Ian's singing voice, however, so full marks to him for being the lynchpin to the video.
For whatever reason, I think Matt switching hats strikes me as extremely funny. The bit about Tim was a stroke of genius.

I just saw, for the first time, the Lonely Island video on which this episode is based. Now I'm sad because what I thought was the LRR video's unique twist -- the way Ian kept going off-topic in the verses -- was the same twist used in the Lonely Island video.

Well, it is a parody of The Lonely Island's version. That's what parodies are.. o.O

During Desert Bus, we had a request to do Jack Sparrow, and Jer decided to rewrite all of Michael Bolton's parts for fun. Just to make it more Desert Bus-y. Afterwards we thought it'd make a fun video, so I rewrote the rap parts too.
What I'm saying is we weren't really trying to do anything different with it.

Ah, I missed that part of Desert Bus. So the video about Desert Bus in-jokes was itself a Desert Bus in-joke. Super meta! In light of this new information, I'm raising my review score for this video from "Jumped the Shark" to "Stole the keys to the Fonz's motorcycle." Well dong.

So if they did a CommadoreHustle episode about making this video, would that make this Super-Ultra Meta?

I'm fairly certain that would open a portal to another dimension.

A portal that I would happily dive into. We should all go!

Hey, I just noticed... Tally's not in the credits. She's in the same shot as KingKool, on the sofa.
