I would have played along normally too before I realized what the next line of the song was. ;) So I felt the need to subvert it. I'm sure Graham talks to her for a great many reasons.

I've watched this video like 6 times. The song is awesome, but its mostly wondering when Kathleen became hot.

How old are you, perchance?

I'm in my early 40s, so the rap I heard in high school was stuff like Run-DMC, Sugarhill Gang, and early Beastie Boys. The song in this week's video took me back to that era; Bradley got the style just right.

A question I forgot to ask:

"Hot in Topeka" was that a reference to Foster's Home, or is it a reference to something else? Or maybe not a reference at all?

Compliments Graham you've just been compared to Will Smith.

Well, he is the Honorable Judge Pimp Santa all up in this business. Even parodied Fresh Prince during Desert Bus. ;)

Fun fact about my Santa girl attire: both the skirt and the top were WAY too big for me and there was an elaborate mess of safety pins holding everything together. That's why you don't see me from the side or the back!

This would be a very good explanation for what I couldn't put my finger on but looked odd somehow.

Well, hey, it worked out!

Wonder if, say, Tally could help you take them in a bit more permanently? She seems to know a lot about crafting and seamstressing (not in the Discworld sense).

No, but you never know when a particular outfit might come in handy for a different scene. Y'know, like hats.

It's her right to dress that way if she wants to and you should be supportive.

Believe it or not, the early rap videos were more about breaking, popping, locking, rollin' in a Benzo', and disregarding authority figures. "Fly Ladies" were later on, as rap became more mainstream and rappers could afford illin' cribs and bedazzled chalices.

I think it's because Kathleen's disdainful eyes and bleached hair made her look waaaaaay more gangster than Graham, who was clearly doing a parody. It works better in the shots where they're both smiling and being wacky.

This pops up in my Christmas music on iTunes every so often. Still really fun, and actually one of my favorite Christmas songs.

Also, Technographic Wonder Sleigh is my Trans-Siberian Orchestra cover band.
