Re: Fairy Godparent
I really like the fairy/teen girl drinking buddy combo. I would love to see them again...perhaps a rapidfire duo?

This didn't make me laugh out loud, but I found myself deeply amused. This video will stick in my head for quite some time. (It's great.)
Also, seconding the notion of a dysfunctional teen and drunk (fairy god) parent series.

Re: Fairy Godparent
I agree more drunk fairy and teen girl would be cool.
Re: Fairy Godparent
I never thought about the implications of listening to teen problems. I have to imagine the turnover rate is fairly high in the fairy industry.

Re: Fairy Godparent
I didn't like this video a whole lot, to be honest. Like the Fiscal Irresponsibility Fairy, I found the Fairy Godparent's performance a bit... well, flat, even though I know it was meant to be that way.
But then this happened:
Oh god yes.
But then this happened:
James: The job market sucks right now.
Kathleen: What does that mean?
James: Don't worry, you'll find out reeeaal soon...
Oh god yes.

I'm sure this was probably the point, but I feel I must comment on that hat. It's terrible. Please don't wear it again Kathleen, it makes your whole head look weird. O_o
Also, while I'm sure it would have been impractical, James should totally have climbed in through the window like he'd used a ladder to get up to it.
Other than that, great video! Love the idea of a fairy god Mo-... Fairy god person who's had enough of people's whining.

Re: Fairy Godparent
I wonder how close to personal experience Kathleen got with writing the lines for the teen girl. From my personal experience, I learned that while I was taught not to hit girls, it can be all too tempting.

Re: Fairy Godparent
This was JUST what I needed after a hectic 'prepare for impending hurricane' day at the supermarket. I totally empathized with the Fairy Godparent, and there were plenty of moments that had me guffawing. Kathleen's writing is up to her 'makes Oscar Wilde hiss cattily' wittiness standard. And the stinger, while expected, was similarly good, and the very last line was MAGNIFICENT!

Re: Fairy Godparent
Kathleen, I thought the script was really tight and all of the teenage girl's 'problems' were very funny (I especially liked the mouth disease line) and James was great as a deadpan fairy, as I only assume everyone was expecting.

Re: Fairy Godparent
Wow... just wow...
Texting with my my wife two hours before this was posted on the escapist and 4 hours before I saw it.
Me: "There is something inherently funny about waiting for my understanding poverty class to start and the girls on either side of me are venting their fury at their parents who wont buy them new Iphones"
Her: "Their parents are participating in their education! Now they understand hardship"
Me: "Ah yes, the Iphone 5 was designed just to teach spoiled college kids what its like to not be able to buy food"
Her: "maybe they could wish for one they get three. "a Iphone 5, Billy asks me out, and umm world peace or something I guess, whatever"
That is an exact transcript other than me misspelling inherently as "inheirently"

I'm so glad everyone liked this video! The hat, while a little silly looking is 1) on trend (I know because I looked up 17 magazine's back to school fashions) 2) covers the top of the wig to make it look more natural.

Great script, I feel for all the fairy god parents working in this economy. Also, you're the cutest 17 year old I've ever seen, Kathleen

I liked it very much. i thought it was a very tightly written script, and was nice and simple. Also, it meant I had the Fairly odd parents theme tune stuck in my head for, like, two hours. Good job.

^, I especially liked the stinger.
Totally accurate, except for all the times I'm not.
