A Warning
Re: A Warning
Andy was perfect for this. Very funny.
I have to admit I was expecting it to be an Uwe Boll or Twilight film.

Ahh the stinger...
That was a very thoroughly described scenario Paul, good writing.

Re: A Warning
Were Kathleen's lines in the stinger meant to reference anything? (I got the "Kathleen is really hard to weird out" part).
Totally accurate, except for all the times I'm not.
Re: A Warning
I believe they were referencing the film Battleship.

Re: A Warning
Ooooh, BURN! At the beginning I thought the video was meant to be satirizing free speech laws or something like that, but no, that was a well-deserved burn.
I must admit, my brain did melt a little bit when I first saw the ads. (Although not as much as it did when I discovered later that the film made a profit, despite everyone saying that it was awful.)

I didn't pay to see it so I can say that it was worth exactly what I paid for it. A good way to waste an evening though.

Re: A Warning
An hour later, Kathleen was found huddled in the corner, hugging her knees and rocking back and forth slowly while singing "Let's all go to the snaaaack bar..."
Thank you for calling tech support, how can I be the outlet of your misplaced frustrations today?

Re: A Warning
I will never see Battleship for one reason. This line in the movie.
"You went from enlisted to officer faster than anyone else in Naval history..."
that makes my brain hurt.

That actually makes my fists itch; which way is Hollywood again?
But Andy nailed it; there was a point when I felt the set up was dragging a little, but that just lulled me so that the punchline was all the more effective!
And it's great to see the LRR-scout sashes reappear! Go, Tally!

Re: A Warning
I was almost certain, that at some point in the video, a shocker close-up of the creepy little toy dog would appear and loud, scary banshee screaming would cloud my ears.

Re: A Warning
Spot was fairly obvious in this one....
Andy was a good choice for the role...and I *still* can't believe they made a Battleship movie. I haven't seen it, though I have a fairly high tolerance for bad action movies so I suspect my reaction would be like Kathleen's.
Note: I recognize that you're performing comedy, and you set up unrealistic situations for comedic effect. Nonetheless, mischaracterization of free speech laws is a peeve of mine. Even ignoring the fact that theaters pick and choose what to show all the time (out of the many, many films that get made), there's no free speech law I'm aware of that compels one private entity to communicate speech they don't like, or provide a forum for others to do so.[1] That's the same argument made by Internet trolls who are angrily post about their free speech rights whenever they're banned or moderated.

Re: A Warning
I was gonna say that it was likely what would have been played before any screening of Michael Bay's remake of TMNT. Then I remembered Ash did a comic about it so my childhood is safe once again.

Re: A Warning
Love the video, though I feel like a black or blue curtain instead of the white wall would have done more to draw the focus inward toward Andy ( not that he really needed it I suppose, I love how quickly he can go from "end of the world" deadpan serious to his usual animated self). I suppose it would have looked less like an office then though.
Really solid writing Paul. I love the idea that they have no idea who made the movie because the credits are driving people insane, and yet they keep showing it.

That was funny I like the bit at the end where Andy starts plugging the concession stand after three minutes of doom, gloom and sanity rending terror

Re: A Warning
am I the only one expecting the punchline of the video showing the "movie" as being either Bill or Morgan just standing there and going "hi"?
In case anyone asks, the "G" stands for "Ginger"

There's something about Andy just giving this very grave warning thats hilarious.

Re: A Warning
Great preformence by Andy, He really brings the doom and gloom and switches well too lucky go happy.
There was one thing I noticed though, it was fairly obvious he was reading from the teleprompter. In this sketched that worked great, as that's what I would expect from such a warning speech, but it might be less clean in other sketches. Just a heads up.
