Re: CMN
This was a weird one, you guys. Probably the weirdest since The Dinner Party.
Also, please tell me I'm not the only one who tried to go to couchmall.net.

Re: CMN
Guys, guys, guys!
Kathleen was the straight man in this one.
Great vid! Graham was excellent in the 'amoral huckster/discount mad scientist', and Kathleen was a great 'host who responds rationally to the gradually escalating madness presented to her'.
The graphics? Off the charts! That was what put this video over the top. It actually took me more like ten minutes to watch the video, because I kept having to pause and read all the comedy goodness squeezed into the bottom and left side of the screen.
One trivial note: on one of the items, the flex payments seemed actually reasonable. IIRC it was the 40 pmts of $9.99 (the animal blood?), when the 'CMN Price' was $399.99, meaning it'd be cheaper to take the installments, instead of the usual "you'll pay much more in the long run" ratio. But again, that's the closest thing I could find to a complaint, so that's saying something!
However, you are starting to worry me about how you keep taking a segment of western culture that many deride and try to lampoon it, yet do it BETTER; honestly, with my arthritis, the Rotoped sounds like an attractive option...

I hope not, we own it now.
Re: CMN
This video left me with a profound sense of confusion. I wasn't sure if it was comedy or I had somehow slipped in to a parallel universe.

Re: CMN
I KNEW the Yummies Corporation would be involved with this channel somehow!
My favourite part: Paul eating a tree. That's true commitment.
And with this video Beej is contending for the position of straighter straight man than Graham. If not for "The Crazy One"...
I love it when a video goes completely off the rails like this, I feel it's one of the things that LoadingReadyRun does best. One of their hallmarks, if you will. And this one clearly didn't have any rails to begin with.
And watching it a second time really highlights the joys of the overlay.
Retail price: Illegal in 48 states.
Arms/Legs/Torsos mix and match!
$NOPE.99
Genius.

I'm glad everyone liked the overlays. I had a lot of fun coming up with them. While I was editing the video I bugged Graham to show me how to make them so I could come up with more on my own.

I almost forgot, what is a "Line Wrangler"? Was Heather being your teleprompter or something?

SO much fun with the overlays. Loved it. $NOPE.99 is my favorite price especially with "S&H $49.99 We're going to jail".
I sew things, I write things, I do laundry for people who do interpretive dances to Afternoon Delight.
Re: CMN
I got a very strong Krieger vibe from Dr. Greg. Like two got started in the same lab and just took different paths to realizing their crazy experiments. Is he also super into Rush?

Re: CMN
My new goal in life is to name something "Dr. Greg's Abomination Super Special." I think it's finally time for me to start a Throbbing Gristle cover band. Or start a family. Either way, I'm off to Craigslist.

I loved how the video moved from pretty strange to pants on head retarded at a steady pace.

The joke was that Dr. Greg's full name was Dr. Greg Spaceman. </30rock>
HOLY SHIT GUYS! BEARS!
Re: CMN
It's totally not. His name is Leo.
YA BURNT!
I just threw out Greg as a random name because the TV doctor should be known as Doctor [Firstname]

Re: CMN
I can just imagine Dr. Greg and Krieger sitting down in the bar, talking about the newest abominations they made today, maybe debating the best way to replace limbs with animal parts.
They're characters who would be good friends, I think.

Re: CMN
I think what makes it, is that Graham is such a good salesman. With both his characters and the items/services they are selling.

Re: CMN
Meh, they've survived and thrived from worse.
So, as y'all probably know, the new BlackBerry was unveiled today. When I took a break, CBC News proved it was nothing more then a 'HSN with pretensions of journalism' by running the press conference in NY live.
As I watched the Head of Software show the CEO how to do this cool thing and that cool thing, I just *couldn't* shake the association of their presentation with your video, guys!
I even got strange looks from other people because of it!
...but someone asked my why I kept laughing, which gave me a chance to explain the association, and - hopefully - make a couple of LRR-converts.

Re: CMN
Wow, Kathleen and Graham's delivery reminded me of the Control-and-Tony sketches on 'A Bit of Fry and Laurie'. In a really good, topsy-turvy, Control-and-Tony-are-dishonest-salesmen kind of way.
I've actually had a lot of positive things to say about the LRR videos lately but I haven't gotten around to any of them. I'll just say I think you guys are doing great, I feel like there's been a lot of nuance in the acting, and keep up the good work.
