How to Talk like a Pirate
Talk Like a Pirate = A++++ would recommend!
I still think my friend Riker wins on being king of the Geeks, as noted by this story:
During a raid in WoW (in which hes the GM) on a Friday night, he properly corrected someones use of Klingon.
Not to say I'm not the runner up, since I understood the joke and laughed my ass off while running a different, higher level dungeon.
..
....
......
wooo Warcraft!

The three things I loved about this video (which are related):
First, it takes itself so seriously. Although I'm sure you guys had a blast making it, the humor appears to be totally unself-conscious, which makes things funnier. The very best jokes are those that manage to be told with straight faces.
Second, the illusion of being a low-quality education filmstrip is almost perfect. The static, the music (which is piercingly electronic and obnoxiously pretty, just like I remember from real filmstrips) - even the clothing seemed appropriate to the period.
Lastly, the fact that the video was genuinely both helpful and educational was the icing on the cake. The rules you presented not only matched but encompassed the pop-culture understanding of what piratespeech is supposed to be.
I found your site two days ago, after Pharyngula linked to a YouTube copy of your video, and I spent the next several hours giggling almost constantly (the 'almost' is because of intermittant bursts of wild laughter). You really have something here - I hope a lot more people try your address and appreciate what they find.

Listening to the LRRcast again, I noted the talk about Revver and ad revenue. I'd been somewhat interested in a few of the ads, so I thought I might as well click on some of them.
Unfortunately, when the linked sites come up, they appear in the video window, which is quite small and doesn't permit the whole page to be seen. There's no way to make it larger that I can find, and it makes navigating some pages impossible.

The arrow keys seem to permit me to scroll the narrow window around the much larger screens, at least with the Vice City ads. It would be good if this were mentioned somewhere.

Been away way too long
But I'm thrilled to see the quality is just as high. This was truly brilliant. I'd love to see a follow up such as Pirate for the business traveler, but you might need a few more sets.
The setting of this as a genuine 70's language film replete with diagrams, was genius. I heart you guys.
The only thing I think you missed was YA-harr, as an expletive:
Ya-harr jim lad, I caught you plunderin me rum.

This is a few months late, but a friend of mine from back home sent me a link to the talk like a pirate video on talk like a pirate day. I opened it and went "Hey! I know these guys!" My friend was all "huh?" at my excitement, so I had to explain that you guys entered the film festival that my best friend organizes. I just thought it was awesome that he sent me a video that he just thought was hilarious, with no clue as to who you guys were, and it turned out I had seen so many of your videos prior to that.

Hey, someone posted the vid to Milk & Cookies!
(a GREAT site to post LRR vids to to draw more attention to LRR, btw)
BUT....
This vid links back to a YoutTube upload...
Shouldn't somebody find out if it can be relinked back to the "official" Revver version? Or is a YouTube version ok...?
Here's the link....
