Re: What's Going On?
Just wanted to say that I've already had to stop the video because it made me laugh too hard. It was even a delayed laugh, since it took a minute to sink it. The deadpan "my name is mine, and you can not have it" just killed me when it got through.
And, having just finished it, I can say with great ease and excitement that this is one of my favorite episodes in a long time. It might honestly be one of my favorites.

He's back! So glad to see this character (whatever his name is ) get a full sketch.

Dave's not here man
Re: What's Going On?
I was waiting for Dave (played by Beej) to storm in. So, when can we expect Dave to kill bad advertisement man?

His name is obviously <Reporter Name>. He comes from the long line of the Name family.

I like how the mall name is a combination of three of the malls in Victoria: The Bay Centre, Hillside Shopping Centre and Mayfair Shopping Centre.

Re: What's Going On?
While I love the character, and all of the bits of this video are hilarious (the stinger in particular is amazing, Beej's weapon hand trembling is so good)... all together, it's a bit much. A character better suited to Rapidfire and shorter one-hit pieces like the CAH video, I think.

Re: What's Going On?
Sad to see there's no production of ASS: The Musical this year.
Otherwise this was a fantastic sketch, Graham is a true master of deliberately terrible delivery. My favourite part has to be either "My name is mine and you can not have it" or the traffic report. "...or even A tank? So buckle UP and dress warm."

I laughed at this video. A lot. There was a lot of laughter.
That was amazing. I love your delivery Graham, and the writing was fabulous.
I have to watch that again. So much laughter. Aaaah. What a great way to start my Monday.

Oh it's gotta be Eyewitness Accounts. It's gotta be. (That's the only sketch I remember there being a mall in... PRESIDENT OF THE MALLWALKER'S ASSOCIATION)

Re: What's Going On?
Guh... what is... I don't even...
I think my favorite part was Alex's growing horror at what <Reporter Name> was volunteering him for. That and the piece of paper at the end.
Oh, and everything else. This video has the highest density of LPM (Laughs Per Minute) of anything y'all have done in a while.
Thanks, guys. I'll probably be randomly giggling to myself for the rest of the day now. My coworkers will think I've gone nuts... or maybe just more nuts.

Re: What's Going On?
I started grinning the moment I saw the thumbnail; I LOVE <Reporter Name>!!!
My merriment built and built as the video went on, and my cheeks contorted as I tried to keep my silence so as to hear every nuance of of the vid. My body shook as I watched the worker for "Habitat FOR Humanity" get more and more concerned. Tears welled up in my eyes during the weather report (totally called that black graphic would be, tho ). I actually broke and guffawed out loud during the Coast Guard Maritime Report - I survived the 'someone gave me a picture...but I lost it.', but that weakened me so much that I couldn't resist the "...or is it a piece of seaweed? Either way five people have died..."
As soon as I heard the end credits music, I paused it and ran to the bathroom to prepare my bladder for the stinger I knew was coming. Glad I did otherwise you guys would owe me a new office chair!
Oh. My. Gawd. BEEJ! Dave is such a beautiful counterpoint to Graham's <Reporter Name>.
As someone said, you are amazing with that (somehow) perfectly WRONG delivery, G! I guess it really takes a master at something to be able to do it exactly wrong.
Thank you!!
Oh and my prediction:
Dave ends up committed to a mental institution after he starts begging anyone and EVERYONE (from the police to his Gov't representatives to even the Vatican) to get this man to stop destroying his business...which closed its doors just weeks after "What's Going On?". Unfortunately, <Reporter Name> was sent to the same institution for psychiatric evaluation after being bafflingly uncooperative during his arrest for harassment ("Name?" "No...it is mine and you can't have it."), Dave ended up taking his own life with saved-up belly lint.

Re: What's Going On?
...you fuckers.
Watched the vid a second time to check the name of that town in the weather report, and the wording of the stuff during the Coast Guard thingy.
...and bbecause the website embeds YouTube, I saw 'related videos' when it finished the second time...
..."Dave's Xmas Xporium".
You sneaky, underhanded BASTARDS.
Something hurts over my ribs because of you!
Heh-ow.

Re: What's Going On?
My favorite line is the "dress them up as Henry VII." I didn't even notice that it was TUDOR costume warehouse, not Tutor costumes. So I was expecting it to be "dress them up as a tutor" and when my brain hit Henry VII, I lost my shit. So good.
Also "Take an Elf home with you." OMG
Batten-BIRD? cake is the best way to prounounce Battenberg Cake ever.
Almost as good as GINGer-bread.
Kathleen's nasal transitions are also not getting enough live. They crack me up.

Re: What's Going On?
I feel if I watched this sketch in pieces over my day it would be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I'm going to have to agree with phlip up there that all at once was a bit much. I will say that there are some great gems in there. I didn't catch Henry VII until AlexanderDitto mentioned it. Fun, needed more straight man I guess. Alex's scene was my favorite.

I disagree. I think part of what made it so funny was that it just kept coming. If they had been split up I think it wouldn't have actually made me laugh aloud. It would have been just as clever, but the humour wouldn't have built up as much.
Differening opinions I guess!
