BONUS VIDEO - While Wii Were Waiting

Postby Graham » 25 Nov 2006, 19:23

Toronto Correspondant Alex brings us bonus awesome this week, which is grand!

He says he'll hopefully be doing some more On Location stuff for us, so look forward to that!

These people seemed more excited and less enterprising than the PS3 folks...

Mang... It's been way too long since I've been at the controls of Final Cut Pro...

My computer has been very ill for a long time, and we finally got around to installing a new system drive and with it all our apps.

I'm eagerly anticipating more on location reports and other vids to come.

Thanks guys!

So the Wii people all want to play and the PS3 people all want to sell. I wonder if that's just a function of the PS3's higher price and limited availability, or if there's something more significant there?

"I swear it," said the other mother. "I swear it on my own mother's grave."

"Does she have a grave?" asked Coraline.

"Oh yes," said the other mother. "I put her in there myself. And when I found her trying to crawl out, I put her back."

This, contrasted with "Gibbstation 3" reminded me of this comic.

Ya, a very different atmosphere for the two systems.

Considering that I am most defintley not a gamer, and don't get a vast number of LRR jokes because of that, I can't really relate to people in either line. In fact, they are all crazy.

But yes, the sound effects were freaking awesome

It still astonished me what great performances everyone gave without being prompted or coached - nothing was staged or re-taken, and I had the painful task of picking out only the very best of what was shot in those 17 hours and wedging it into under 10 minutes.

A lot of time you have to lose a really brilliant shot for the sake of the whole video, and I think there were at least a few.

Oh, on a side note, the guy doing the Hitler step when I say "downtown crazy people" was actually a bona fide lunatic. He showed up and started hanging out with us, and was continually rearranging a pile of random books and flyers and just generally being very wierd. We finally saw the last of him when he left to get a "tarot card reading".

Huzzah, my first LRR apperance... while eating teh pizza.

I didnt stay for the whole time, but the couple of hours I has there was very fun indeed. Man, I swear even though im a non smoker Im addicted now just from being in the area. So many people were lighting up every kind of tobacco known to man.

Ah, and tons of people were on DS gamerooms.

BTW, there needs to be a discuss button to link to here on the vid page.

P.S: 71megs for quicktime download? what happened? anyways, despite that compression quality, a good video indeed.

I have to agree, the best line was "I'm not a nerd. I'm not a nerd. I'm a geek."
Anyways, very well done Alex. The coin sounds were right on, it sounded good. Overall, very entertaining. Thanks for the extra video!

Awesome job! they had an @#% load of Wiis.

You meet cool people and wierd people in those lines, when i was waiting for the Wii only one out of 50 people wanted to sell it...and they pronounced it the "Why".

I despised them so very much.

the others included a 40 year old man who kept asking kids if they wanted to wait in his car, and by some ungodly coincidence, my friend's math teacher's boyfriend. O.o

Awesome video, Alex. I loved the reaction by the people when they walked out with the Wii.

I enjoyed the person they labeled the "Satanist."

Actually it was me that labelled him the satanist, and I wasn't kidding. He said he was on his way to some sort of secret occult ball, and was well-dressed for the occasion. He wasn't really nutzo or anything, I just truly think he could have been an practicing satanist.

Or maybe he was just screwing with us :D

He was MUCH more competent-sounding than the door-to-door viariety.

Not being one myself I wouldn't know but one of my friends told me its not like some crazy thing with fire and chants. It's more just the belief in standing up to someone bigger and saying no.

According to the "Church of Satan" website, they are merely anti-Christian.

In which case, calling your church the Church of Satan is just a dick move to piss people off.

I guess the end result is there's a difference between a Satanist, and a Worshiper of Satan.

GAH! Syntax! :(

I've never understood why alot of those words don't work.

The classic example is that if fire-fighters fight fire, then freedom-fighters must fight freedom, right?

Or feminists! They should be called equalitists! Or possibly equalists. "Feminist" sounds like they believe in the superiority of women. And it being a universe of polarity, there must also be masculinists fighting the feminists, but would they be called feminist-fighters? If so, what would they be fighting? GAAAAHHH!!!!

...

Okay, that outburst had little to do with anything.

So ... How about that Wii ...bet it's fun ... heh...
