D-fer Madness

Postby Graham » 02 Feb 2007, 15:32

Another one that's been a long time in the pipe, from our good friend Johnny_Lunchbox.
The main issue here was getting around to asking my parents to do it. Which they did! And did a great job I think.
Thanks guys!

That actually made me laugh all the way through. Mainly the sight of Graham's dad trying to play Gears of War :D

Still you get 200 internets for getting the folkes involved!

Okay, that was just pure awesome. I love the ending the most, the look on Graham's face was priceless

Kudos to Nate for finally being in a LRR video. Nice work, dude (even though you didn't have any lines, or anything...)

I'm going way out on a limb here, even with knowledge.

Are your parents that awesome without a script anyways? (If anyone remembers that video of the 80-something woman who was owning at Resi 4) Game-playing parents rule.

Ha! Parents+gaming=laughs

Couldn't stop thinking of those anti-DnD comics out there, I was sure Jer was going to say, 'I declare your character DEAD!' As those comics and this video proves, DnD is surely the devil's game.

Because, y'know, taking people on adventures through mystical realms is just communist propaganda.
As a History student, the history degree I'll be getting will get me a decent job, right? Guys? Where you going?

You must have some awesome parents if their willing to do a video. Honestly i think my parents would think this whole site was a huge waste of time.

I actually didn't read those comics before writing the script for this. Graham, I believe, linked me to 'em as a response to the script.

Was that a Clone High reference (the raisin episode) at the beginning?

While my parents don't actually play video games (though they do enjoy the Wii) they are awesome for doing this.
And the lines "Maury has a lot to answer for." and "Polyhedral dice!" were my Dad's.

Kudos to Mr. Stark and Mrs. Graham-Bell. Their performances were excellent - just keeping a straight face would have been impressive, and yet they managed to, like, emote.

Also: there totally needs to be a Dice Squad. Miami Dice?

That was brilliant. Your parents were fantastic. :)

Years and years ago I remember there actually *was* a tv movie about the dangers of D&D. I was young enough to take it seriously and never tried the game because of that.

My old roommate's mom wouldn't let her son take the D&D video game into their house. He had to leave it in the garage until he moved out. She thought that letting it inside would allow Satan into her house.

She also had a drawer full of recorded radio exorcisms. On the AM band apparently. And she threatened to take my gargoyle lamp out of our place because it was a symbol of idolatry.
All hail the great deku tree!

The names 'Timmy' and 'Johnson' appear again. A reference, or inability to come up with new names?

Not supposed to be a reference, but I suppose "that damn Johnson kid" could be little Billy, or a relation.

Oh, wow. That was awesome! :D

As has already been said, Mr. Stark and Mrs. Graham-Bell were amazing. It's absolutely brilliant to see parents so willing to be "in" to the Internets thing. May your tubes be forever unclogged.

At least two Alaskans laughed themselves silly. Excellent work!

Haha. At the end, I totally expected them to buy Graham some weed or something...but WoW was just as good :P

Great job guys! It was really great. I think "Timmy" and "That Johnson Boy" are just typical little kid names. Billy would have worked just as well.

Very nice. Clearly Mr. Stark owns at GoW.

Paul seems to play "evil" people a lot. Seems to suit him.
