The Deal
The Deal
We had a lot of very silly challenges in shooting this one. We'll cover it all in the LRRcast this week.
A good end product I'd say, though.

Hey kids, there is a separate Korea website right now, so there is a new comic, but it doesn't link out from the main page just yet.
To see the new korea go to: http://korea.loadingreadyrun.com.

I was going to make a comment on the quickest sunset in the world, but others beat me to it.

Freaking hilarious. I was pretty sure that James was gonna want in on the deal when he walked up, but what happened was equally funny. I love that little suspenseful moment right before Paul and Graham book it out of there.
Like many others, I did notice the fastest lighting change ever, but it only made me WTF for a second. Oh, and it would've been kickass (but more work for you guys) if Detective Riley made an appearance at the end with James.
Nice job overall, guys

Decent video; I especially liked the part where Paul asked Morgan if he had any drugs - Paul's expression was priceless. A few questions, though:
- Did you only have enough (fake) money to fill either the suitcase or the bag so you switched them around?
- Are non-LRR commitments the only reason you can't shoot earlier in the day when the lighting differences aren't as great?
- Was the part where Paul quickly changed 'nice day we're having' to 'night, night' scripted or was it actually supposed to be daylight when that scene was shot?
- How high up is that freakin' parking garage?!
- Do drug dealers actually deal in Canadian 20's?
- Are any of the above questions going to be addressed in the LRRCast?
P.S. Guard with the awesome Rocky impression?

To LRR is human.

yes. that cash was totally real, and not illegally forged at all.

yes.

scheduling is a nightmare - frankly, the only reason we can do it is we all make it a priority. in this case though, the lighting issue was the result of a dead battery in the camera requiring a second day of shooting. also, a pre-screening of grindhouse. the last half of that video was filmed at 11PM on Wednesday. the first half at like 7 on Tuesday.

the original line was "nice weather we're having" the line was ad-libbed because Paul botched the line, and we thought it was funnier. it wasn't done intentionally because of the lighting.
Anachronism wrote:- How high up is that freakin' parking garage?!
we were on the 4t or 5th floor. the garage has 6, and a basement.
Anachronism wrote:- Do drug dealers actually deal in Canadian 20's?
i suspect so.
Anachronism wrote:- Are any of the above questions going to be addressed in the LRRCast?
lol, probably.

this one I'll leave for the podcast.

The video was awesome this week guys. I don't think that was cocaine, to whoever thought it could have been. I hypothesize that it was really Carpet Fresh or a dvd case wrapped in shitloads of paper and saran wrap. I say this because the LRR crew isn't dumb enough to self-incriminate if they actually are coke fiends.
Though they may be Coke (TM) fiends or something, but that's another story.

I loved the plot. Hated the lighting, though. Before sunset, the light outside washed out Graham and Paul, making them hard to see, and even when it became dark outside, it's as though the camera kept adjusting to the brightness of whatever it was aimed at, causing constant luminosity shifts. I found it distracting.
Ironically, I also think getting a better microphone has lead to a decrease in the average quality of sound in the vids.
Good writing and acting, not-so-good production.
