Well, she was putting on a character voice...

Wow, that DOES look like a car. But that's not really possible because were shooting in our dining room, which doesn't have an exterior window. So I'm not really sure what it is. I think it's just Paul shifting the "wall" and a sliver of light from the back windows punching through.

Andy

Postby The_Only_S » 28 Apr 2007, 16:17

Honestly, all Andy has to do to crack me up is open his mouth. He's hilarious.

So, how did you guys film this? Did you each have those individual lines, or did you film each of them with the whole script and then pick some clips? It seems like the second way would be really hard.. :)

Oh it would be!
No, we did it the first way, so we could figure out all the cuts ahead of time.

Oh GOD four pages in a day and a half. I'm not up to reading a frickin novel right now, so I'm gonna go ahead and assume everything I'd point out that was good about this week's video has been said multiple times.

But: Andy. That was a great accent. Nicely done!

OMG THE FUNNY!

I loved Bill playing on the DS in the background in one of the shots of Jer.

Andy was absolute hilarity. And it was really nice seeing so many different LRR folks all in one video. (Nathan had lines this time!)

I don't necessarily agree with his choice that it's "not new", but it's his opinion. No worries.

Did I come off too strongly? I didn't think I'd said anything too out there...

Honestly, did I do wrong? I mean, I like to discuss things, bounce opinions and ideas around, challenge folks to think. Maybe I came across in a way I didn't intend? Or, possibly, the crew simply doesn't want people getting into "heated discussions" and the like on the forums? Well, at least the video discussion forums...

I'm awfully curious now....

No, you didn't come off that bad at all. I just didn't want an exchange between Bryy and myself to throw the whole board into a flame-splosion of people defending us, and others not being able to criticize us and so on and so on.

Dialogue for the win!

Dialogue is definitely for the win, I think you did great! Alot of the reason I was excited for the video was cause you were going to be in it, so you impressed one person, anyway

And yeah, I'm just gonna go ahead and reiterate the fact that Graham is a freaking editing God. Just got done watching the video again, trying to pay special attention to continuity, and I'm far past impressed. Honestly, there's no way in hell I would've even attempted anything that complicated. Major praise/kudos/internets go to Graham Image

It's a gay PoS that's why most servers have it banned.
Can't argue that it's bad in scrims; when you have to save up to buy it for a round or two, it's perfectly reasonable.

I figured out the car... and it is a car.

It's being reflected on the other(Morgans) side of the glass, from just off screen, where the wall ends, through the window behind.

I believe this is a very good transition to another topic, for which I would award you one internet, but sadly I have none to give, so perhaps a cookie is good?

But the window behind in our back yard, and then other houses' back yards.
See, that's why I am confused, because there's no way for a car to be there.

The only possible explanation is a car on the road out the front window is being reflected, despite that window being two rooms away.

That must be it... I swear it's a car... two cars.

Figured out the car, I think.

It's a double reflection, inverted and partly refracted.

The road is somewhere off to (I'm guessing) Morgan's left, or the camera's right, and light is coming from the car, hitting a window, refracting through the glass as a sort of glare, and then hitting whatever glass-esque surface Morgan is standing behind, striking it from the camera side of the surface. It then reflects off of that and glances into the camera lens.

I know for certain that it's coming in from behind the camera, because Morgan's hand passes behind the reflection.

I love how you call it the "dining room".

You'd expect candle sticks or something. :D

Also, nice diagram. I do the same thing with set designs with MS paint.

*ahem*

Andy, far be it from me to correct a man of far greater literary ability than myself, but I do believe Graham called it the "Dining Loom".

Only flesh food is served in the dining loom. The vely fleshest of the flesh.

Also, woo-berries and glee! I helped figure it out! Kinda!

Addendum - Shouldn't it list Molgan and Paur?
