Well done. Even though I'm not Canadian it did give me a lump in my throat.

That was James operating the camera during the poutine bit, wasn't it?

I also liked James' "proud" look in the end there.

though in reality, their message was "regardless of your nationality, you too can make fun of an oddly effective way to attempt to educate the masses by using their favorite form of brainwashing. Cuz face it, your country is just as messed up as the others."

Man that brought back some serious memories, I loved how they pointed out specifically the Winnie the Pooh one, it was my fave just cuz of the stupid kid.

"Hey dad, let's call this bear Winnie the Pooh." "Why Pooh son?" "I dunno, just Winnie the Pooh."

I curse that child for probably having more money than i do now....

The pullaway at the end clinched the awesomeness. Great job for Canada Day, guys!

(Sadly enough, I learned a great deal about Canadian history through those minutes. Probably because I was too lazy to change the channel. ^^)

I'm not Canadian, but I did get it. Seems in Canada there are short commercials on TV that tell about Canada's history. What you guys did is take the creating of the Canada minutes and made a Canada minute on it. That's how I got it. Well done.

PS If I'm way off, let me know, cuz then I'll feel like a complete and utter idiot.

I'm shocked, shocked, that you never once mentioned burnt toast.

There is something weird with the pacing right after he's had his moment of inspiration, and then it keeps going to show the implementation. I guess it is so ingrained in me that this is only supposed to run for one minute.

Yeah, you nailed the video, it's a Heritage Minute of Heritage Minutes.

Canada Day is a celebration of Canada gaining Dominion from the British Empire and becoming its own country, rather than a colony of England.
140 years and counting!

Basically, it's the same as July 4th is for you.

Cake, Canada was created on July 1, 1867. However Canada did not be come independent of the United Kingdom until 1931 and did not have full control of its constitution until 1982.

Great video! I love Canada, apart from the concept of poutine kinda scares me. Fries with cheese and gravy sounds a pit wrong. Although alot of English food I eat could freek other out.

Oh, Happy Canada day for tomorrow guys! It is July the first right? Our schools thought it'd be a good idea to teach us about America and not Canada so i'm a bit rusty on these kinda things

Well, since I know nothing about Canada I have no idea what this were about. But that makes me wonder, what have Canada done to be remembered (except LRR)? So for all you Canadians and people who know alot about Canada could you plese tell me what celebrities, inventions and big events that come from/happened in Canada.

P.S. Actualy the only time I can remember that we have talked anything about Canada in school were about some guy a long time ago who tried to sail trough Canada and after half his crew were frozen to death they mutinied and threw him of the ship and went home again or something like that.

Ohh, it seems you put some effort to actually get a prop camera from that era.

At first it looks like a (S-)VHS full format camera. But I think I can see the Sony logo on the viewfinder. As there haven't been many consumer shoulder camcorders from Sony it should be relatively simple to determine the model number.

And by making consent to the experimentation a necessary precondition to his offering vital surgery, he violated any number of ethical proscriptions in order to get the data he wanted. Not exactly a sterling example of proper medical behavior.

Not to start another Pig War or anything but.... Uhm, no. :-)

See, Canada Day celebrates the day that a law was passed by the UK Parliament saying, "Yeah, sure, go ahead and be a sovereign nation. Sort of. Is it 1982 yet?"

Independence Day in the US celebrates the day that some tax rebels signed a document that was basically a big SCREW YOU! to the British monarchy. Thus setting the tone for the next couple of centuries of American Empire.

I like the video, with its meta-meta. I was thinking of 'Hudsucker Proxy,' too, in that hallway scene. Also 'Brazil.' I guess the Cohens stole from the best, too.
