My half-assed web search turned up stats that 26% of Canadian households have firearms, compared to 40% of American households.Alja-Markir wrote:I know guns are way more common in Canada than in America (and yet Canada has a fraction of America's violent gun crime),
And I'm pretty sure that's not a rifle. That is a cardboard box.

I found the reference to 'Morgan's Problem.' In that, Morgan isn't in this video.
Also: You can get eggs delivered.

Just got around to watching it, loved it.
Although...a little too much Bioshock info for me, but really I was just trying to be picky. I wanted to go into the game knowing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about it. Now I know a liiiittle bit. But it's all good.
Loved it a lot, really liked the whole Linux part. And all the references were cool.
But....You guys MIGHT be stretching it. Bananas as a reference?

Really great video, and it's true the references were one of the funniest things about it simply becuase it was all done so smoothly. I mean i'd have to watch again to be sure, but i don't think anyone making a visual reference like the eggs or the lemming actually had a line while they did it, so it was always in the background. And you'd have to have watched 'one of us has to change' to get the shirts. When else do you pay attention to a load of washing?
Very clever. Also Paul's mad genius characters kick ass, have ever since the bginning and especially Installation Anxiety. He can do crazy eyes at will!

Having watched it again the smoothness is also really great editing, and the funnyness is the way the tone of voice that Paul uses never changes throughout the whole vid, even when his underwater utopia falls through.
'Don't Worry, I Kept The Receipt!' *rummage*
'Crap!'
That's what his crazy-man voice is. Capitalization of evey word.

I liked the video very much. I hope they don't all rise to this level of self-reference, but I'm pretty sure that's a one time thing.
I find it interesting how Graham and Paul alternate being the zany one, and their different takes on the role. Paul becomes slightly manic and wildly enthusiastic, while Graham becomes more dramatic - like the lead character in an old science-fiction radio play - and somewhat delusional.

The Mirror
Ohh, I think I have found a reference to "The Mirror".
The eggs were packaged in plastic which obviously makes no sense as eggs in our side of the mirror are packaged in carton.

No, I've seen cartons like that.
Plus, they would have had to specially order a plastic/styrofoam carton, which would probably cost between 20 and 200 dollars.

Pshh 4/5 statistics are made up on the spot.

Reference as in: He wears it in both videos.
And I'm still laughing trhough the whole video.
Awesome!
Note: he wears it in a LOT of videos. It's one of his favorite zippies/hoodies/sweatshirts (whatever term you prefer to use).
Things that weren't references:
• The "sniper rifle" is a paint roller trough. So... yeah.
• "That name is trademarked" not actually a reference to Wyy. It's just silly to think anyone else would want to use it.
• My jacket. Let's not be silly.
Also, there were a couple good references in the script, and the ones we added in the visuals were just for fun, but luckily not having seen the previous videos doesn't detract from the video. It just makes it better if you have.

I cannot stress fully enough - or in words potent enough - that I know exactly how cold the ocean is in an environment like Victoria.
Paul, you have my deepest sympathy, heartfelt thanks for truly gut-busting laughter up here in the Frozen North, and my hope you got a good electric blanket warming out of this.
Great job!
