Yeah, I can't claim that I don't watch a lot of CSI, and as with Pimp My Ride, it's more fun to parody something you like, because then you can get it right.

I noticed a lot more tiny references, but that was my favourite. You guys did a good job.

Oh my God. So worth the wait.
I LOVED the camera movement the whole time, it gave a much smoother and more polished look to your video; and the editing and sound ROCKED. Ridiculously, ridiculously rocked. Thank you, Graham, for being a perfectionist in your editing.

It is funny, smooth, and absolutely the most professional video you guys have made to date. The ONLY thing that threw me off was it didn't have over-the-shoulder shots with shallow focus and a shaky camera, although I'm not sure if they do that in CSI (Don't really watch it, myself). It just seemed like those would fit.

PS: I love your dolly.

This was an awesome parody. LRR is awesome.

What building did you film that in?

Also, who is Nick? None of the characters you made up are named Nick so is it another character or a mistake?

Wow, I was super excited to see this video. I love CSI, but there's nothing I love more than making fun of it, especially Grissom's bullshit, snarky ass one liners, and his waddlewalk.

You got it all down, nicely done.

My favorite part? Impossible Data Recovery!

A magnet wiped security tape (meaning it is now void of data), demagnetized by software (produces data from nothing, via algorithms), focusing on the zoomed in toaster oven (you can't focus a zoom, ever), and topped with the light wavelength filter (could theoretically work, but only with actual light to eye view, and not if it was a digitized recording, especially in black and white).

However, my big beef is that the janitor has had no actual evidence produced against him! His name card might have been stolen from him without his notice, and then replanted during the course of the evening!

EDIT: Also, I totally called this video from the blog preview!

It's been two weeks since Ballad of the Fanboy. It is no difficult task to grow a beard in two weeks.

Depends on the person. I couldn't grow a decent beard if you gave me two months.

Nice! CSI needed a good parody imo. what morgan's character does was really funny, also what software did you use to enhance that image? maybe you should recoment it to NASA they seem to have a lot of pixilation.

Taking pictures of something over 2 AU (an AU being the average distance the Earth is from the sun) away is a pretty intense job, hence why we only have very clear pictures of Mars' surface (only 1.3-1.6 AU away at any point in its orbit).

Plus, only telescopic pictures of objects' surfaces are pixelated. Large objects as a whole aren't.

Brilliant, even the title was chuckle worthy. I must agree with alja-markir, the whole getting the image off a reflection from a toaster 20-30 meters away and de-pixalating it so you could make the name out perfectly was brilliant. :D

Oh yeah, and I signed up to ISC, lol watched the videos there and all I can say is...EEEW....:P The Big mac one was definitely the most disgusting. And to all those wondering if that is a real site, IT IS! Go! You must watch the crew and a couple of their mates being disgusting!

The image off the reflection, filtered and enhanced, is probably the most obvious joke in the whole video; every computer geek I know has made fun of CSI or some other cop show over the "enhance" dealy. What puts this over the top is jokes like "dumbing it down" or "This gave me the chance to learn slightly more about you."

Nice work everyone. I've never watched CSI & am only familiar with the basic format of the show, but I was still able to greatly enjoy this one. With the exception of the echo from the hallway near the end it all looked & sounded very professional.

This is for all the CSI: Miami fans out there.

Also, THIS.

Great video. Your most professional looking yet.
One problem: Every episode of CSI has a montage while one of the CSIs are looking at the evidence in the lab, trying to work out what happens. It usually ends with one of them looking up, looking like they've discovered something.

You had an awesome montage opportunity and missed it.

Great work on this video. Truly great. But the lack of montage took away from its CSIness.

That's actually one of two clichés we missed. We shot footage for a montage of Matt using The New Software, but it ended up being an unnecessary 20 seconds of nothing funny happening.

The other was one of Brass' classic "Okay, here's what I think happened..." monologues. That one we just flat out forgot.
