You know what? That was Paul's computer. I could see James having all sortsa porn on his computer, but I see Paul as trying to keep that shit hidden.

Nice video

Postby Casandro » 07 Dec 2007, 13:35

Nice video, the keying of the wizzard's hat probably was a bit hard. Chroma keying suffers when you don't have 4:4:4 video. Perhaps you could experiment with luma keying. That should be sharp to the pixel.

Otherwise very well. I didn't know that Photoshop still existed, I thought it kinda died out at the turn of the century. The last version I have used was 4.something under Windows 3.11.

Otherwise I'm not quite sure what you are reffering to. I think there were some simmilar films in which a boy is taken into a wonderfull world by a wizzard.

That was absurd... which I presume was the point of the parody. Well done.

The lighting was a bit rough; it would have been better if it had been omnidirectional.

I love the 'Oregon' poster on the back wall. Who has posters like that?

That WAS Beard Overload.

The best part was where WizardPaul kept calling James different names. I kept thinking of those 50s PSAs where an adult's trying to tell Johnny/Billy/Timmy/Jimmy why drugs/alcohol/nuclear industrial waste is bad for you.

Edited for correctness. Duck and cover, everyone!

In hindsight, I don't think the video was quite long enough to display how long it should have taken Ian to get used to the idea of this magic man who appeared and done it.

I was both pleasantly surprised and mildly disappointed by this one.

Mildly disappointed because I was expecting a "Pinball Wizard" parody, and I think that would have been hilarious.

Pleasantly surprised because it was really funny anyway! Paul's Beardy Wizard is awesome.

This video is really good and really talks to me because of the fact that im in the Visual Arts program at Camosun, so this to me is nothing new. Thank god that they let you take art history a year before the main course at that school! Great video LRR.

Ummm, me?

That was my apartment. I used to work for a museum design company, so I have a bunch of random test prints on my walls. That particular poster is actually a test print of a banner from the "Oregon My Oregon" exhibit at the Oregon Historical Society in Portland.

HOLY CRAP.
YES

The video was fantastic guys (except for some background noise in a couple shots [well, at least one]). Paul's nutshelling of writing a 5-paragraph Essay at the end was amazing. Good work.

I assume you guys already knew about this, but in case you didn't...

http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail181.html

That's what this reminded me of. Actually I'm really surprised you guys didn't make use of lens flare. But I guess that would have been the obvious choice.

Man where could I get a wizarding job like that? That job has all the perks, magic, jumping in and out of computers, the massive beard action...

0.o Look at those fat kids run! WOW. That's just bizarre to the max. Song is oddly catchy though....

Anyway...Nice porn James "Uh, that could be anything." :P Dang, now I'm just totally ???? as to how you did the lighting effects. Normally I have at least some idea of how you did the scene, or how to replicate it but DAMN. Well done, love Pauls enthusiasm. "THAT'S RIGHT TIMMY" "Actually my name is E-" "LET'S GO!"

Musta taken a while to film you guys separately and edit yourselves onto the photoshop pallet screen. Nice work. :)
