WGA, No Way!

LRR will still happily scab for American TV networks. But we'd only ever do it for the money.

Friggin making Action9 look like a real news station taking up all my sleep time.

Edit: Boo ya. I'll finish watching and tell you what I think. :P

Edit...AGAIN!:
Nice work. About time someone had a strike against the strike of the Writers Guild. Ok, just that concept makes me laugh, I think you carried it out well. And how did you time the hand gestures so well? Had someone behind the camera waving their arms about randomly mouthing the words 'DO SOMETHING WITH YOUR HANDS'?

Small issue, Pauls face is cut off a bit. 2:19-2:20, 2:25-2:33, 2:35-2:38....pretty much at any point when Paul looks at Graham.

Otherwise: "That's page three of the long lost orgy episode of Friends! The one with the cucumber!" LOL, overall I liked it quite a lot because it dealed with the WGA issue in a comedic manner, which honestly? I needed more of to keep me sane.

BSG will hit the air, BSG will hit the air, BSG will hit the air, BSG will hit the air.....

So yeah, I read the script before this, and was really looking forward to seeing it in video form. Turned out really well, G.

True fact: The 'lost orgy scene of Friends' script is Page 1 of the script for the video. =P

But but... you guys really aren't going on strike... right?

Strike?? NOoooooo!

Still, nice handwork.

Finally! Now that the video is up I can go to bed.

Are those star explosion LRR logo shirts ever going to be on sale? I may or not buy one, but I would consider doing so.

Completely random comment: In your About Us section, you mention you've been doing LRR for 3 years. You should probably update that at some point.

Comment actually related to the video: It seemed a bit too short. I thought you could have done a bit more with the concept. I liked what was there, of course.

Comment about LRR fanbase: Your fanbase (myself included) seems to like just about everything you do. While your videos are certainly great, maybe you should do something a la Penny Arcade's Twisp and Catsby just to see the limits of our support.

Explanation of the above: PA came up with those characters and strips because they wanted to do something their fans would hate. They failed.

Explanation of why this post is so disjointed: The people who normally write my idea transitions are on strike.

I loved this video, Paul at the end crying out "our cause is just!" had me laughing out loud.

It is a limited edition LoadingReadyLIVE shirt from when LRR did a show at the Victoria Fringe Festival two summers ago. Only 42 were produced and I have no idea what happen to any leftovers.

I have one. I am special.

Wow, I love being a theatre person. It makes you react in completely unexpected ways to such totally random stimuli.

In this case, that news-ish music loop at the beginning. We used that same one for our local production of The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, so I hear it and immediately start thinking "Shoot, gotta hit my mark by the 'Scandal at the North Pole!' line!"

No wonder actors seem a little crazy...

In other news, awesome video. I love how Matt always gets recruited for the parts involving suit-wearing or hair-slicking other establishment-oriented looks...I guess it means he looks the least like a filthy hippie? :D

While I do wholeheartedly support the WGA strike, I have to say that the idea of LRR directing Edward James Olmos? Pretty, pretty awesome.

I thought the length was fine and not everyone in the fanbase likes every video they do. A lot of them (ok maybe not a lot but a few) are rubbish... just not funny. LUCKILY! This was not one of those.

LOL at Graham smirking after the first synchronised hand slash. I SAW YOU!

PS. REALLY want them to make 'The One with the Cucumber' now...

Loved it!

Oddly enough I'm making a video about a news team and I need news intro music stuff. Can you point me to where you got that music?

Gold medal for the best performance of synchronized swim... ehm, synchronized striking, to the LRR team.

Is the picture quality for these videos getting better?
Or is the sharp relief (of particularly faces) an illusion caused by excessive green-screening?
(Rather, extensive green-screening.)

Either way; very very good indeed.

I've not finished watching it yet, because my browser is being really, reeeeally slow at buffering the thing.

As a result, I have paused twice. And both times, Graham has had this expression on his face:

For the record, is LRR actually in support of the writers?

Oh, and the "doing this for three years" thing is easy to update and leave alone. Just write something like "We have been doing this for SELECT date_part('year', now()) - 2004); years"

Or is that way too nerdy?

synchronized hand dancing Olympic team stars I think!

I thought the interview was fab. I found the stuff about someone having a baby but actually their wife slightly less funny, maybe just didnt work as well as the rest?

"The one with the cucumber" sounds like an LRR script in the making if ever there were one.

I felt this, too. The joke was made about half-way through its delivery, and the rest of it felt like, "Yeah ... We already got the joke ... You can move on now."
