Seriously.

The...

The guy is an idiot! HE'S AN ANTI-FILMMAKER! If you guys actually like his films, you're either brain-damaged by them, or in shock.

Or all three.

Come ON, now, you can't be that brainwashed by his utter audacity and...stupid!

Snap out of it, folks!

It's times like these when I am so thankful that I managed to avoid all of his movies. I don't think I could take the torment. Great video though, everyone did a good job. And Matt's hair was pretty cool! Action News 9 always delivers.

I would have loved to have seen the Pro-Boll counter go from 2% to 2.001% after Graham officially announced his support.

Otherwise great video, Uwe Boll has a special place in my heart, I can always count on him to be consistently bad, and that consistency is valuable in a world that is so full of change and chaos.

The world is a world of balance. There is good to balance evil. There is day to balance night. And there is awesome to balance suck.

For now... Uwe Boll plays a vital roll in the great circle.

Should he disappear due to an act of awesome truly one more horrible will take his place.

Or several significantly less horrible but still add up to be a greater amount of suck.
My train of thought is more like a roller coaster that has loop de loops and no safety bars.

Very nice vid! The opening ad was pretty good, and the actual video took a subject that was enough of joke in and of itself and added to it. You guys cracked "rad nauseum"!

Also, I stand by my theory that Boll is actually an evil alien being who feeds of other people's dislike for him, so I'm trying my best to avoid focusing on him.
I tend to be overly apologetic. Sorry about that.

Eh, not quite a great LRR video, but it works.

Personally I think that the whole Boll thing is really quite a boring topic, and I also think that this is kinda just playing on what's already been said by countless other sources.

That and the wonky production qualities (is that Revver being retarded or something?) make me honestly kinda furrow my brow and go "Huh. Can't have pure awesome every week." Which is totally fine and to be expected, because pure awesome, like Fail, is a non-renewable resource.

Yes, this man must be stopped.

I just recently saw the trailer for "Far Cry." Oh my ... what a hack!

"Is that your gun?" [EDIT - that's a reference to the Far Cry trailer, not this week's video]

Funny, I think this video will stir up more emotion than "Deeply Religious!"

Oh, this week was a good video, I'm glad to see you are still working against this madman!

the green screen looked a bit funky, like a pixelated outline around Matt/Morgan. also Matt had some green hair going on. Also, Guantanamo Bay? Presidentail Election? I thought u guys were from Canada but it felt like you were speaking as US residents.

Corax, for your enlightenment, I give the following educational material.

Canadians tend to know just as much about America as Americans. Frequently they actually know more about America than Americans. On top of this, they also know all about Canada, which very few Americans know anything about except for lumberjacks, hockey, and mounties.

Quick, who was Pierre Trudeau! No wikipedia! Fast fast fast!

That's a little bit like expecting people to know who a particular governor of California was.

Just in response to the petition itself..
Like Lavos said, the guy is doing what he loves, so let him keep on doing it. It's not hurting anyone.

However, the guy's that keep moving "Date Movie" "Epic Movie" "Shit Movie" should be shot. It's helping to lower the bar for quality in comedy movies, which Uve Boll isn't doing for any other films; he just makes films people generally ignore.

We're pretty well inundated with America culture, so we don't have a choice but to know. That and a fierce patriotism based on information available to us readily in any number of forms, such as news, music and comedy - particularly comedy, ie, Rick Mercer - help to give us a pretty good view of our neighbours to the south.

And Zed Alpha.

If anything, the people who are brainwashed are the people who are signing the petitions. They only look down a narrow path towards what movies are entertaining. It's not whether it's good or bad, it's whether it's entertaining. I find Uwe Boll entertaining.

And if you found the original Evil Dead entertaining - it was so campy and bad it was awesome - then you can't possibly harp on Uwe Boll without acquiring the title 'Hypocrite'.

If I thought for a second that he'd stop making movies at a million signatures, I'd sign it a million times myself.

However, he is making so much money from this, he won't stop. If you did a half-assed job and still got paid millions, would you stop?

Green screen

Postby Casandro » 21 Apr 2008, 20:34

Well could you try shooting such green screen elements with your HDTV camera? As you are using consumer stuff, the problem is probably that you don't have chroma on every pixel. With HDTV you would at least have enought pixels so this turns largely irrelevant.
You might also want to try to experiment with different colours of the screen. Maybe in some cases you get better results with a black or white wall and luma-keying. If everything fails, I have an old framebuffer card for the PC which can make great blue-screen chroma keying when provided with an RGB input.

we film everything on our HD camera. in HD. (though graham informs me that we capture in SD - since we publish in SD for internet viewing.)

the problem is not the technology at our hands or our skills. our ability to green screen is limited by manpower, budget and timeline.

professional-looking greenscreen work is not done by one person over 4 hours working on his own, and not getting paid.

professional-looking greenscreen work is done by several people, working together over several weeks, and doing it as their full-time job.

buy enough shirts, and maybe we'll hire a digital effects team.

That was awesome...again! But I do believe I lol'd harder at the ad than I did the video...except the pie graph. XD

Also: you forgot the 2% of people who sneak into the theater...and pick the wrong showing by mistake. A horrible, horrible mistake. ><

In unrelated news, I signed the petition. In related news, maybe instead of green screen you could actually have a newsroom? O.o

Bald Boll'd

Paul says that maybe Uwe Boll is a necessary part of the universe, which provides a certain balance to the film world.

This is not true. There is an equivalency at work... One Uwe Boll equals seven porn directors, for instance, or three up-and-comers. The necessary part of the universe is that there are hacks, but those hacks don't have to be Uwe Boll.

In fact, Boll's success is too long-lived, and he, himself, is unbalancing the universe. He is occupying the space that would be otherwise occupied by somewhere between three and seven other hack filmmakers, any or all of whom might be incrementally better at their job than he is.

Who knows? Maybe some number of Loading Ready Run members are being displaced by Boll in this way, right this second!

So come on, Uwe: Step aside and let some one else have a shot at that budget. Take up a hobby like basket weaving and move to the mountains or something.
