Words fail me, this was an excellent use of a hellish experience.

I guess words don't fail me too badly...

It feels like an inside joke only people crazy enough to watch (and do) Desert Bus will get... which is fine by me, cause I watched a good 90% of it.
Excellent re-writing of the lyrics (Matt!) and excellent camera work. Seriously, I woudln't have known that you guys did this in one day.

I like how the video starts out with the UstreamTV logo in the upper corner. It took a few views before I finally noticed it. Subtle. Nice.

I'm really hoping the view count is updated soon. If everyone else has been watching this several times an hour like I have since it went up it should be pretty impressive.

how did you guys change camera operator without a cut or am i missing something

My guess is that when Matt was told to leave he stayed at the door out of shot. Then at 1:32 you can see the shadow of someone walking behind the camera to get around the camera man and then Morgan and Graham appear! I believe at that point is when the camera was handed over.

You can also tell because the quality of the camera handling just goes downhill from there... cos its Matt you see.

Only kidding.
It was really too big:

I give you this instead

Excellent, and one shot too. Paul wearing nerd glasses over his regular glasses was a nice touch. This video was worth the wait and a great way to end on Desert Bus.

That may have been the most awesome thing ever. The in-jokes are great, and the montage at the end is great, almost makes you want to cry :)

I also just caught the Boomdeyada songs, which are also hilarious.

Sheer brilliance.

Yesterday, I was thinking that you guys were cutting a bit fine, but I was well aware of your "if it's up before next Monday, it's still on time" principle, so I was hoping you'd pull something out of the bag in time.

In all honesty, I was thinking that the best sort of video you could do in this instance would be a well-choreographed musical explaining how you dropped the ball. What do you know, that's exactly what you did!

Just loved the song. The Ustream watermark made me wonder whether that part was pre-recorded, but no. Loved when it broke into widescreen.

Overall, I thought the song was really nostalgic (even though it was only a few days ago, so much has happened that it's difficult to remember it all) and a great way to end the whole Desert Bus experience. Top notch. Almost brought a tear to my eye.

Graham, I didn't catch you blinking at all in that video. Was that intentional? (I heard it's common in video not to have characters blink because it makes it less distracting.) If not, have you tried entering staring competitions?

Also, I liked the intonation on "Put blame on the VCR".

I'm absolutely stunned by what a success this year's Desert Bus has been; you'll have a hard time beating it next year. I love the idea of projecting the chat. Maybe a second driver cam that films the back of the driver's head, the TV, the "chat wall" and all the technology you have hooked up. Essentially to cover anything that isn't picked up by the first cam.

But that's all far in the future. All I can say is that you guys should get your well-deserved sleep, and I look forward to seeing CH3 on Monday.

Great video guys, well worth the wait.

Props to Matt for writing a great parody.

Sometimes simple is best, and this is the case.

So, do we expect Hustle 3 tomorrow, or will it be slightly delayed also?

For some reason, the flash AND the quicktime videos don't want to work for me. Fail.

I wonder if downloading will work... *tries* nope it's giving me a 404 message.

Help?

EPIC WIN

Postby Dantopia » 07 Dec 2008, 10:54

EPIC WIN!!! That's all that can be really said about that video. Epic Win. With an extra dose of Epic.

I've downloaded the MP3 and there's a pretty good chance of the chorus of that song becoming my new ringtone. You know. For the children.

OKay you guys, where did you pull that out of?

That was SO epic I don't even want to use the word "epic" because I use it too much, and that truly was Epic.

There were too many good parts to name but Matt has that exasperated Twilight face down pat.

Your live gags were great, so we should have seen this coming I suppose. I'm sure many of you will humbly disagree, but I think it proves that you bunch have true talent, the fact that you can whip that up in no time.

Thanks for this you lot, I will enjoy it for a long time to come, and do not mind the extension on the Hustle.

Verdict: AWESOME!

I am a little surprised that while the Jer's double was identified, nobody's yet mentioned the obvious double for Morgan... Chester Bennington.
