The Dinner Party
The Dinner Party
Featuring the Vancouver team of Mike, Brad and Lindsay.
I would be lying if I said that the inspiration for this video was based entirely on those masks. Good times.
Also, I'm a fan of three-stage punchline. Yes, I know it's weird.

It's nice to see more of the "Dark Comedy" side of LRR, great work on the Van-city branches behalf.

It's guest star week on LoadingReadyRun and Kathleen's ditched her glasses for good measure! Any reason in particular you chose to shoot in Vancouver?
I wasn't really sold on the video until Brad and Lindsay were back in the car. Very fun dialogue there. The exploding car, however, had me scratching my head a little. It seems to me that rigging a car to explode wouldn't cost that much less two additional heads at a wedding. Then I asked myself how completely rational a a couple that's trying to reduce headcount for a wedding by using crazy dinner parties would really be in the first place. Maybe they've done this before and got a good deal since they bought the materials in bulk. It all makes sense now.

My though process on the video went something like this: "ok...ok...weird, but I know the payoff will be good....ROF-*BOOM*......................*eyebrow*"
Surreal, but you pulled it off well. Thought the car scene was fucking brilliant, you knew just where any other video would cut, pushed right through that wall, then just when you couldn't push anymore, you set off a stick of dynamite. Majestic. This is how LRR rolls.

Yeah, I agree, the pacing was a little... off for this one. But the triple-punch was a nice pay-off.
I love the "drinking" with the masks on. Subtle, and nicely done. I hope we get to see the mask props put to good use in the future!
And serious props to Brad and Lindsay's scene in the car. Very well delivered. Part of the "Hollywood-North" talent pool?

Fair play to Kathleen in this one: her arm acting in the add, the mask pull off, "saving money" delivary and obvious weird influence on the script; superb. The car scene was also brilliant, for some reason Lindsey putting her sunglasses on made me chuckle. Has she been in another video, she looks familiar? I understand people not liking it as much because it was pretty weird, but I thought it was awesome!

I thought it was slow and overly awkward at first but then I realized it was build up to a punchline (after they were back in the car) then the car exploded.
I must say I laughed. A sinister couple, surely, but thorough.

My train of thought is more like a roller coaster that has loop de loops and no safety bars.
