Just going to point out in case anyone worried: we're both fine. As you can see from the advertisement that followed to video, the explosion was actually caused by the explosive taste of starburst.

Great T-shirt ad….especially graham’s unconvinced “yay” at the end

LoL at the end with the car explosion, and checking them off the list, done and done.
Wow that's quite a commercial upgrade!! um, I really hope you guys are getting paid enough to air that after your sketch, and I watched it to the end, so as to make sure you get paid for my video hit, if indeed you are paid or scored by hits. Well done.

Honestly, I think this video really represents a large aspect of what LRR is, and what makes LRR so great. It takes a heavy dose of surrealism, a video like you'd find on youtube (with lower production values), and a punchline that leaves you with "lol/meh"........then SLAMS down with the two additional punchlines that just brings everything together in a triple-hit that makes the video brilliant.

Just when I was losing faith in humanity, I turn to refresh the LRR page and find salvation! You just avoided extinction, human race...barely.

I found the pacing somewhat off at the beginning, and I find one of those creepy three note piano tunes would have worked well in the background (Kathleen's super-happy doll face freaked me out), and I found the double insanity gag and the scare ploy gag somewhat predictable (but that's just me), but most of all, I found the tree punch combo to be FANTASTIC! I was caught by that third punch, and I'm not afraid to admit it. Good job, guys and girls! You have impressed me. NOW DO IT AGAIN!!! please.

hmm, that is definetly an interesting way to get rid of unwanted wedding guest.

.....especially if they plan on giving toasters, eww

Narrator wrote:Yeah, I agree, the pacing was a little... off for this one. But the triple-punch was a nice pay-off.

I love the "drinking" with the masks on. Subtle, and nicely done. I hope we get to see the mask props put to good use in the future!

And serious props to Brad and Lindsay's scene in the car. Very well delivered. Part of the "Hollywood-North" talent pool?

I know where you're coming from on pacing. Kathleen and Mike's job was to be plainly acting the part, and mine and Lindsey's was to be awkward about it. I often play 'straight man' roles in LRR, but this was probably the straightest.

I didn't know if the 'us not drinking because they clearly aren't' bit was going to be noticeable. Good on you for noticing. I really liked the script for this episode. We were going to shoot it a while ago but couldn't and both Lindsey and I veto'd it being shot with other people because we liked the roles. It has a lot of subtleties to it that was fun. Then there's an explosion.

As to hollywood north? Well... Lindsey is... kinda. Just different sort of talent.

Also, a lot of new forum posters on this thread. Good for you!

The video was awesome, surreal, creepy, mysterious and the resolution pretty mundane but funny and satisfying. Just like Doctor Who episodes. Good job.

By the way, Kathleen looks FREEKING CREEPY in that mask. That is all.

And to think all you had to do was give them the wrong date on the invitation.

This is weird though very weird. I can safely say that I didn't expect what was coming.

Ok...I watched it again, and it was way better, and I appreciated it a lot more...though there was not a single thing in it that I thought was different. Weird.

I had a great-great-uncle or something who actually canceled his wedding in order to prevent an unwanted guest from showing up. That unwanted guest, incidentally, was his brother.

You can tell that Kathleen wrote this video.

I made the mistake of watching this video in fullscreen, so I got the full scene of Kathleen and Mike in horrible creepy masks in glorious 1680 by 1050 pixels, so that was enough to keep me SERIOUSLY weirded out for the extent of the table scene. I didn't even figure out that it was Kathleen until about a minute in.

Also "Hope they like toasters" was brilliant.

This actually reminds me of Watchmen Watching. Just when you think you've hit the punchline, it surprises you and goes two more levels.

Also, I love that Brad and Lindsey acted entirely creeped out, even though they apparently knew it was a plot to keep them away from the wedding.

The twist top is how you can tell it's classy, along with the fact that you were drinking it out of pepsi faux-wine glasses.

Great job. I love dark comedy, so this was right up my alley. Brad's line about bridesmaids (and the following exchange) really sold me on this video. Good to see the VancouvLRR crew, again too.

Also, Kathleen's posture at the end of the ad cracks me up.

Having just watched The Bet and Rebellin' earlier today, I was expecting some sort of "Yay we got rid of them" twist from the beginning. But you took it a step further by having both parties completely aware of what was going on, giving Brad and Lindsay's odd glances a different tone - not one of "Oh god what is going on", but more "Oh god what are they trying to pull now?"

Also, this video is sort of Revenge of the B-Cast. I mean, it had Kathleen, but she has the least amount of screen time as of late, due to here being in another city and all. And we haven't seen Mike since... *checks Wiki* okay, Mike doesn't have a filmography page. But it's been awhile. And I think Brad's last one was the one about high fives. Right, Hanging. And the one before that was in Season Four?! Sheesh.

So, yeah, nice to see faces we don't get to see that often, obscured by ridiculous masks though they might be.

Also, RUNNERS. T-SHIRTS. BOO. YAH.

Me as I watched the video:

WHAT?!?

OH MY GOD!!!

Always nice to see creepy Kathleen and creepy Mike. Also BRAD zOMG.

I found that the last punchline (was it supposed to be an explosion?) kind of took away from the humour of the "I hope they like toasters" line. That probably would have been a stronger ending.

This one felt a little off, for me, but the ending worked nicely. I suppose changes of pace are nice to keep things fresh.
