This is actually one of my favorite parts of the video, too.
Tim: How hard was it to write jokes that were funny-ish but then also not that funny? Kudos to you on a well-written sketch.
And is it just me, or is everything about what you guys getting slicker and slicker? Pretty soon, y'all will be a famous sketch team with your own network show and we'll all get to say, "Ah, we knew them when..."

Not that hard. You've just described pretty much every joke I ever make.

I like how in the one scene, Paul "leaves the room" by walking into the corner of the room off camera and standing there.

No T-shirt ad, for shame!
But seriously, great video, guys. It's nice to see Tim in a leading role.

James walking into the room wearing the same shirt as Paul made this video for me.

Re: Stand-Up Guy
Fantastic. Paul and James are a great team. Plus great Demetri Martin-style comedy parody

So is Tim/Cody supposed to be a parody of Demetri Martin or just musical comedians in general.

Re: Stand-Up Guy
awesome vid guys! i love how it comes full circle at the end. Great acting all round, especially tim. loved the laughter track too, really made the intentionally not funny bits. also the bit where james walks into the room with the same shirt as paul on is just gold, completely non-sequitur. well dont all round.

I have now seen almost all of James. This is decidedly awkward for never having met him. 0.0
I have to say I loved the way it started, and seeing what led up to it at the end makes the gag even better.

Tim, James and Paul = Epic win.

A: Graham - Great edit on the "Throw Tim over the balcony".
B: The "Tim in a Auditorium" effect can be created by anyone! I'll show you how in these easy steps:
1. Open the audio clip in any editing program.
2. Isolate the individual (if there are multiple people talking, just make sure our subject is never "talked over")
3. Add a bit of reverb and echo until it sounds "right".
THE MORE YOU KNOW...
Shhh. I need them to start reusing ADs so that I can fit all of Season 6 on one Youtube Video...
WAT. Where? I missed it. (goes back to rewatch video)

Tim is terrible with the puns. Dear goodness.
Great stuff guys, a definite multi-viewer. My only problem was that I was distracted trying to determine if there was some sort of shenaniganry/pattern involved in the t-shirts. That was a lot of primary colours!
Also, is this the first laugh-tracked vid? I had a project I wanted to do with a laugh track a while ago... is there some free canned laughter you guys found?
And why pirates?! But then, why not?

Haha, that was really funny. I like that Tim puts his foot on the toilet, that was a nice touch.

Re: Stand-Up Guy
I was really struck by what a different vibe this video has. It really stands out. Very funny. The laugh track was just perfect, way funnier than a loud, full one would have been. Brilliant acting, too, guys - I think this one could really have suffered if everyone wasn't pitch-perfect.
It's always interesting when you guys mix yourselves into groups that don't as commonly figure together. I don't remember the last time Paul and James carried a sketch on their own.
- FU-SION HA!!!
- I noticed James cracking up at Tim after 'Hiralious'. I approve using that take.

Re: Stand-Up Guy
That was good, I mean really good. It was a really clever sketch. It was a completely ridiculous situation and yet I somehow identified very closely with the two "straight man" characters.
I mean it wasn't quite gut bursting funny (considering the many groans of Tim's stand up jokes, though some were pretty hiralious), but it's the kind of humor that really lasts. It feels like a classic sketch and yet I've never seen nor heard anything like it before. (Aside from generic stand-up itself.) Awesome.

My train of thought is more like a roller coaster that has loop de loops and no safety bars.

Re: Stand-Up Guy
A great script and great casting with the interaction between Paul and James. I think the only point in the script that was really Dimitri Martin was the bit about "I missed you!" The rest was just a great parody of bad stand-up comedy. The scene with Tim and James in the bathroom was hilaaaarious. It went on long enough to be awkward but not so long as to stop being funny. Great vid all around.

Re: Stand-Up Guy
Really enjoyed this one! Tim's rather waggish lines completely made it for me. Also, when Tim came out from behind the coats and started playing was especially funny. Completely predictable because it HAD to happen, but still remarkably funny!
Is it safe?
